Hello Shinboners!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

We l know either pies winning the flag that bluws/* will panick and go get Oliver
I think we are the point of the Carltank clock they think they are right in it, bet the farm for the missing piece, fall hard to the bottom and sack the coach

Everyone see's the issue.

But it's risk vs reward isn't it?

For every Ben Cousins there's Dustin Martin and Jordan De Goey.
Except Dusty & JDG didn't leave. Their club opted to provide the support for them to get the best out of themselves and turn things around.

If Melbourne are genuinely happy to let Oliver go it is a MASSIVE red flag for any potential buyer.

The latter players stayed at their club. If Melbourne truly want him gone, they're trying to make it someone else's problem.

Unless it’s Oliver who wants out and is doing his best JHF impression to get it done.

They shopped them, the players explored their options.

It was nothing to do with welfare support.

Dusty was a last minute flight to NZ with a paper bag from Puma from Balme from joining us, let alone the GWS saga.

If the money/deals had of been right, they would have happened.

Richmond were clearly desperate to keep him.

It all depends on the cost.

If we can trade for him and maintain a massive draft hand, we simply have to be involved (if he passes all the interviews and tests....)

Before people jump at shadows about availability.

Jordan De Goey was available 2 years ago and toured St Kilda.

Dustin Martin toured GWS' facility and was available prior to winning 3 x Norm Smiths.

Of course. Neither of those guys had won four b&fs, two MVPs, a flag and was considered their clubs greatest player ever at the time they were shopped around though.

We're not getting him without giving up 2 or 3.

Yeah they fought to keep him, which is my point.

They really missed him when he was out. And they missed out again when down a midfielder in the finals, Petracca can’t be everywhere. Melbourne needs Clayton Oliver more than we do, and as much as anyone does. If they would give him up now to get Reid that says something about both players that we could pay attention to.

Dustin was in the same postcode with Oliver imo,, he was a top 25 player in 2015 & 2016.

He almost joined us at the end of 2016.

He won the Norm Smith, Brownlow, AFLCA and AFLPA trophies in 2017.

It would be a comparable example if Richmond was prepared to trade him after 2018.

If we can get Oliver for a reasonable price we would be nuts not to do it. We would be set for the midfield for the next 5 years. Pick 3 is the reasonable price. We swap McKay and a few hundred $k a year for Oliver. Obviously the dees won’t let him go for just pick 3 so the entire argument is moot.

One thing about the Oliver thing is if, as it seems, the Dees are open to hearing offers, the list of potential suitors will be quite small.

Surely the only offers they'd seriously consider would either include a top 5 pick and a lower first rounder / future as a starting point, or a King / JUH / Allen caliber tall forward plus a first rounder.

The redflags are irrelevant in this discussion.

We are talking hypotheticals at the moment and on the complete assumption that all due diligence will be done by Viney (probably the best person in football at the moment to be in that position, since he's known him since he was a kid in Echuca) and Clarko.

If he fails this due diligence, then obviously it's a no-go.

The dumbest thing I heard that makes sense is chasing a contracted key forward
