Picked up fringe players in their respective sides and coughed up a F2 for Chol which is overs.

The ball is now in Ginni’s court to work his arse off over the summer & earn the respect of everyone around the club and show how much he wants it. Talented yes, off field problems yes. Big risk and reward similar to Garlett
Nothing like Garlett

Trumping all offers doesn’t get us pick 1. They can keep it. I reckon WCE have entertained offers but would only take something way overs. We haven’t got that and not sure we would offer it anyway. Of course, hope we land pick 1, buts its hope.
Eagles want Curtain, taking Reid doesn't get them Curtain. Whoever takes Curtain will push for a trade down the line. That trade is unlikely to be anything like what they are being offered now.

I don’t understand why anyone would think about trading Meek. He is the 2nd best ruckman at the club with daylight to the 3rd best in Chol.

Rama is several years away from being good (read heavy and strong) enough to play 1st ruck. And I think he will be better honed to the fwd / ruck role.
Clay Tucker looks to have skills but is even further off. Clay is the definition of a long term project.

Meek is that type of guy that will continue to improve. He tries things people say he should‘t because he is a big man. But if those things start to work he will become awesome.

Meek is essential to our list. If Reeves goes down or stagnates in his development, Meek will be there to take his spot.

Trade Meek for a late 2nd… no thanks.
So you’re saying Clay needs moulding?

Agree with the risk and reward part but don't think it is very similar to Garlett.

Garlett was completely overlooked by every club, had never been in a professional environment and had genuine issues with the law.

Ginnivan has some very minor off field indiscretions, is mostly hated for ducking his head but has already put an entire season of good footy together as a 20 year old, has still managed in a professional environement and was sought after by a number of clubs.

Still has to work hard, mature and improve areas of his game but not nearly the level of speculative risk there was with Garlett (who couldn't even make it through an off season)

Fringe is just too pejorative from a supporter, but whatever. All players are in our need areas, so I see as a win given we didn’t weaken our draft hand this or next year and we had little collateral going in

Ginnivan did some ketamine in the pre-season and went to the races before a grand final (with the club’s permission just not his coach). He’s silly, not a dangerous criminal ffs.

If Reid is as good as projected by then, they’ll do alright.

I watched a video on YouTube earlier in the week on the Sudanese boys now playing AFL.
CJ was a part of the video and was interviewed.
He was talking at the time of us being linked to Chol, and he seemed genuinely excited to have him at the club.

I can't help thinking they are going to be good for each other.
Let's hope so.

(Maybe a slightly taller version of the Krakouer brothers).

Trade Meek for a late 2nd… no thanks.
With one proviso: Jordan Sweet is a seriously good ruckman. If we brought in Sweet for a 3rd (pick 50) as Port did and traded Meek for a 2nd rounder, I could deal with that.

that joke should have been obvious but it got me actually laughing out loud. Well played.

I’d like to know Fagans thinking as to where Ryan fits in to that team because they seemed keen to get him in but he’s obviously behind Daniher and Hipwood if he’s just backup like he was with us F2 is a stretch .

Replaces Fullarton. So essentially depth

I’m pretty happy with the end result. We got better, especially up forward and our ability to be aggressive next year via trade hasn’t been hindered.

Essendon’s war chest is gone… it’s really us and North with all the cap space next year, if we continue to improve like I think we will then the next couple of trade periods are going to be pretty exciting.

They only need list spots open equal to picks used for an individual bid not the total picks used across all bids.
I'm pretty sure it changed after the JUH debacle, so teams couldn't just stockpile picks, they had to have list spots open to the same amount as picks they were taking

Comparing him to an actual drug addicted criminal is pretty harsh.

Comparing him to the biggest risk that club has taken on a young player.
Think why Collingwood were quick to let him go….
It’s been no secret Ginni loves his bags.
Who would visit the races before a Grand Final.
The McStay fiasco which is fact
He is going to need guidance

Who else do you expect us to trade in besides fringe players if we have nothing to offer? Tell me which club scored an A then?

So given we hold lots of 3rd and 4th round picks does that require us to have that many list spots open?

The McStay stuff is easy to disprove, it didn’t happen.
