Not sure the ~10% cost of living difference is all that big of a deal when you’re on $750k

Agree with your overall point - however it's about 20% these days. Sydney is an overpriced shithole and anyone willingly going there is insane.

Also he’s not on 750k big whack of tax halves it.
That said that money for someone who has hardly played is some windfall good luck to him. I still think at a decent club he has the making of a good player his intercept stats are strong but the inability to stay on the park is a big sorry.

If he is smart enough he can use that 750 and get most of his tax back.

Roughly $8,000 net per week - I'll be playing the world's most microscopic violin over his tax burden.

Jeez most is ambitious - he's a footy player not a multinational company or religion.

Forking out the $$$ to live in any surrounding Sydney suburb close to Moore Park is ridiculous. Getting into the city is nowhere near as smooth as Melbourne due to everything being built around the harbour so you'd think most players are living right in the city or just outside it so no matter how you spin it playing for the Swans costs a fortune when purchasing a house or an apartment with renting likely even worse.

You purchase in Sydney and unless the property market collapses you get a greater asset to sell down the track. Renting absolutely an issue especially for those early in their careers. I thought they still got assistance for those under a certain amount like 200k. If they don't they should be able to

Yeah I wouldnt worry too much about that. That exact article this morning said they were and were also into BZT, only a matter of hours before it was announced that he was requesting a trade to Port.

The change might suggest someone from the club has rung him and told him hes incorrect here is what we are looking at or potentially he has guessed again

The answer probably somewhere in the middle, the club has rung and given him half the information, we arent interested in Fisher but not given all the information as the club enjoys working in the background without the spotlight.

yeah the housing market in sydney is ****ing stupid but reality is any player on an $800k 5-year contract can set themselves up for life if they are smart enough with money, no matter where in Australia they're based

The housing market in Melbourne isn't exactly amazing. A million doesn't get you much.

Seems like the media have nfi where mckay lands, have read Sydney, Harthirb and Essendon are each favourites to land him in articles from foxsports posted in the space of 2 hours. I’m trusting RNLs mail!!!
