D+We're gonna win this trade-period, aren't we?!!
Only for another week-and-a-half, isn't it?
Pretty sure only picks can be traded during the draft. Any trades involving player swaps will need to be done during the Trade Period.
Well said Daniel. This is a public forum you know and I am not going to shit on my contacts. Not for you or anyone else.He doesnt know , generalising as usual so it doesn't seem he's wrong If it doesn't work out.
Clarko loved recruiting injured players on "potential" so it probably means Curtin goes at 2AFL Draft: Prized prospect suffers soft-tissue setback on eve of Combine
The versatile talent is expected to go within the top five picks at this year's draft.www.zerohanger.com
Does the fact that Curtin has a hammy injury so close to combine mean its more likely North overlook him & Wet Toast are more willing to part with Pick 1 as Curtin is more likely being available at Pick 3 (4)
We were trying and had made headway but I think the salary dump deal has ground to a halt .Is it worth trying for a Bowes type deal with gws and taking on Haynes’s full contract and trying to get one of their first round picks? (Ideally Richmond’s that they traded for hopper last year, so pick 6-7)
Frees them up cash-wise, we get another top pick, and whilst it’s a cap hit, we keep being told we have lots of money available. We could either shuffle the exiting contracts to fit it in, or do a Geelong and offer him a second year with a small increase and smooth it over a couple of years.
Whilst we don’t need another half back, we could then trade out one of the plethora we have, say Scrimshaw, for a second round or future second round, and improve our draft hand for next year.
Now, I don’t necessarily want to lose Scrimshaw, but it seems like he’s not a guaranteed first 22 player
Doubt it . They got told he wasn't interested.I just see b smith as Geelong bound somehow
Worpel??Doubt it . They got told he wasn't interested.
They are shopping their pick for an experienced mid though
The ink has barely dried on his contract extension.Worpel??
North didn't get a profit on JHF. They started with Pick 1 in the draft, JHF (Pick 1 from the previous year) and ended with 0 Pick 1s.WCE should either take Curtin at 1 or forget about him. I cannot see North passing on him given they are in desperate need of KPs, although they may be gun-shy after JHF (they sold him for a fair profit). North have a wealth of talent in the midfield already, so Curtin and Duursma would make sense for them.
If WCE are willing to give up on Curtin, then trading out of pick 1 would give them a greater influx of talent they so desperately need. Harley Reid is only 1 player. They need more.
Mind you, they could swap pick 1 for pick 2 plus another first rounder to ensure north get reid and WCE get Curtin.
Would pick 3, F1, brockman and DGB for pick 1 and f2 work?
Nah, he will 100% be an Eagle. The only question mark is over what he goes for.So Brocky wants to get back to WA for family reasons.
Is Freo also a realistic destination?
Pay THE priceDGB

Pick 1 and future 4th coming back
You can't take a loss on what you never had. Doesn't matter what they were offered, the profit comes from what they got compared to what they paid.North took a loss on JHF. Were offered way more a year prior.
Irrelevant stat. Wardlaw would have been pick 1 without the pick swapping and Sheezel won the Rising Star, their BnF and looked better than a fair few previous pick 1s. Those two plus the extra they got means they made a profit.North didn't get a profit on JHF. They started with Pick 1 in the draft, JHF (Pick 1 from the previous year) and ended with 0 Pick 1s.
I would be both surprised and disappointed if we offered anything more than 3, f1 and Brockman.Put me on the record as saying “as a Hawthorn F.C member I am not happy with the sound of the price we would have to pay for Reid”
Also if we do get him, I reserve the right to be excited.
