Move to Tassie play nine there and nine here. Our only premiership was built on Tassie stars, Howell, Stewart and Baldock what a trio.
I think we've missed that boat.

A torn calf (during the final session before he played too)... not a bunch of soft tissues at all.He hasn't had a clear run back from the ACL though. The ACL has led to a bunch of soft tissue injuries causing him to miss nearly two seasons.
Lucky he's still relatively young. Plenty of time ahead of him.He hasn't had a clear run back from the ACL though. The ACL has led to a bunch of soft tissue injuries causing him to miss nearly two seasons.
Did we ever want to catch that boat? Not me.I think we've missed that boat.
Give me both, still don't see where I am underrating King. Granted there are many on here who do, some even were talking about 2 firsts in a trade for goodness sake.Give me the young key forward who had nearly 100 shots on goal in his third season
I can’t think of a player under 21 in the comp that I would rather have than Owens. The amazing thing is that I think we’re only scratching the surface of what he’s fully capable of.
If he were at any other club most of this forum would be asking why don’t get players like him.
WTF is underrated King? He is a key forward.
Owens, like Roo (who was in reality a wingman) can play forward, up the ground, in the mids, chop out at ruck and is a contested ball beast.
King is a fantastic get and will be a great player. A lazy 6 with a busted wing going half rat pace tells us everything we need to know.
I just happen to opine that Owens is a better all round prospect. We are fortunate.
To extrapolate that out to underrating King is ludicrous but not unexpected on here.

Wouldn't mind any of those TBF. As a utility hard ball get beast. @ 19 Owens could be anything.No-one is doubting his potential. There are probably a few I'd consider that are in that under 21 range that look like high potential players. Nick Daicos looks like the heir to the throne of the best player in footy and he's 20. Wardlaw and Sheezel, Horne-Francis, Gulden, Ashcroft, Callaghan etc are all very high level players.
Owens looks like he has the most high end potential of all of our kids. He does things that look like when he puts it all together he'll dominate games and like the best players do. Plenty are ahead in actual output now though. I'd say Nas is ahead on actual output at this point. How much potential players have is a different conversation.
you are the one extrapolating bs scenario's just because someone had a different opinion and you got a touch of the vapoursfanboi
I'm not downplaying any first or second year players but Owens combined skillset is unique.Wouldn't mind any of those TBF. As a utility hard ball get beast. @ 19 Owens could be anything.
I’ve seen the article, it says Essendon and Parish expect him to stay despite a 100k gap in his value, he’s currently got an offer for around 750/5 years at Essendon, and we are willing to pay a fair price but not overs because we have an eye to the future.
This is the list management thread, the point I'm making is that we need to stop overrating our own players on potential. It's the same crap that got Billings a four year deal and sees him sitting in the twos costing us too much money.A torn calf (during the final session before he played too)... not a bunch of soft tissues at all.
He's missed a little over a year & a half... mostly due to the time of the year that he first did his knee.
What a weird thing to say , Max and Ben have done knees
They’ve just lost Paddy, Tom subject to same issues, Rampe nearing the end, and their other back ups I don’t think are genuine AFL quality (Francis, Melican, Gould)Where has the speculation of Howard going to the Swans come from? Why would they do that? What advantage do they get by having Dougal in their backline compared to what they've got?
I can see nothing in that move that will advantage either the Swans or us, so I don't see it happening, not even worth much thought.
There has been speculation on Dougal's ability to be a better defender by playing at CHB, taking marks, playing on, kicking deep into attack, etc. If that is the case why do we not experiment with Cordy at FB, Dougal at CHB and Wilkie continuing to take the most dangerous forward. We can adjust Battle, Webster, Stocker, NAS around that combo to see if it works? Might be a better defensive set up than trading/drafting etc while the other young blokes develop for another season.

Historic medical evidence for sports injuriesWhat information do you have that would suggest Coffield won't be as good as he was?
30 years ago yes , not these days , most players get back to their best after an ACLHistoric medical evidence for sports injuries
For your reference:This was in the Darcy Parish thread on the Draft/Trading/FA board - if they are only offering $750k we should be going hard at $900k+.
Averages 31 touches per game and 8 clearances. Would transform our midfield in a heartbeat.
Wouldn't mind any of those TBF. As a utility hard ball get beast. @ 19 Owens could be anything.
So Dodo - seems like Essendon are more interested in angling for a higher draft compo pick instead of making a reasonable offer to one of its better players. For your reference:
Essendon remains supremely confident Darcy Parish will remain at the club even as the Dons and his management remain apart on the deal that would secure him long-term.Parish remains out of contract as a highly prized free agent with just 11 days remaining in the home-and-away season despite being offered a respectable offer. The delay in him re-signing is because he is still keen for a better offer, even if the parties are less than $100,000 a season apart.Industry figures believe he is worthy of a five-year deal on around $750,000.Under coach Brad Scott and new CEO Craig Vozzo the Dons have been adamant they will pay their players fairly but are prepared to let them leave if they want to go for more money than Essendon believes they are worth. It means if a rival wanted to pay overs for Parish the Dons would think long and hard about matching a free agency deal.Essendon has vast cap space of more than $2 million, but is playing the long game and determined to spend it wisely as it assembles its list under Scott. Yeah it's better to covet absolute spuds from other clubs like Constable & Dow while writing off our own blokes. Rose coloured glasses work both ways. This is the list management thread, the point I'm making is that we need to stop overrating our own players on potential. It's the same crap that got Billings a four year deal and sees him sitting in the twos costing us too much money.
It isn't normal to miss as much footy as Coff has off an ACL. Before the ACL he was coming off a poor season. My point is we should be offering him a one year deal and no more, and if another side offers more and wants to take the risk on him he should go but why would we want to take a risk on a guy that for all intents and purposes is miles away right now and plays a position we have covered anyway?
We need to stop looking at our own players with rose-coloured glasses. Look at the sides at the top now. Look at Collingwood. They were ruthless with their own. If we are going to go to the top we need to be the same.
