Pick 1...
Maybe the GC academy due to all the clubs & partying can end in 2029Had not thought of that.
Formed in 2011-12, Suns and Giants F/S should not be too far away.

Really, Freo have been in n the comp 30 years and haven’t had a FS from the AFL players. Peak was because his dad played for WAFL team east Freo. Ed Allen didn’t qualify despite his farther being the inaugural captain, coach, and Board member for the AFL team but didn’t play the magical 100 games.Had not thought of that.

The Dockers boys need to get over the target a bit more often and up their game.Really, Freo have been in n the comp 30 years and haven’t had a FS from the AFL players. Can't help it if the universe aligns and we get a premiership and f/s in the same year.Spoken like someone whose team has just won the flag and is about to get Ashcroft and Marshall cheap.
What's the population of NSW and Qld in comparison to SA....and how does the population work with Victoria divided by the number of clubs given the NSW teams and Qld only get divided by the 2 teams? Can't help it if the universe aligns and we get a premiership and f/s in the same year.
AFL, like life is not fair.
IMO, as a Sydney supporter, you should be supporting any leg up the teams outside of Victoria get, as we are already starting behind the 8 ball.
MILLIONS per clubWhat's the population of NSW and Qld in comparison to SA....and how does the population work with Victoria divided by the number of clubs given the NSW teams and Qld only get divided by the 2 teams?
I actually had the stats for Tasmania, choose to leave it off.fixed.
Nah. I hate the draft being so compromised and happy with most of the changes being brought in next year. Can't help it if the universe aligns and we get a premiership and f/s in the same year.

We got this key forward kid coming up in the 2027 draft…Keep father/son for the tradition and romance of it, but I would be for getting rid of all the club run/based academies... the AFL run and fund them and the players go into the open draft pool.
Not until we get Sam Marshall, Ryan Gilder, Ty Gallop, Daniel Annable and Raphael Geesu though.
Are you going to name names briz?We got this key forward kid coming up in the 2027 draft…
Really should factor in the 4 NRL clubs here in QLD, and the 1 rugby union club, because they’re all drawing from the same junior pool. What's the population of NSW and Qld in comparison to SA....and how does the population work with Victoria divided by the number of clubs given the NSW teams and Qld only get divided by the 2 teams?
See my post above and redo your maths.
Boothey at Sherwood. And Thommo’s kid for 2026 as well. Are you going to name names briz?
The amount of NGA in the northern academies v FS is a different ball park.If you keep father/son need to keep GWS & GC Academy until they start getting father/sons.
In the case of that, clubs won't be able to match multiple players. Because it'll be too expensiveCan someone please clarify how the new academy/father son rules will apply next season. My question is how clubs with multiple academy/& or father son players in one round match bids?
As an example Gold Coast will have a possible 2 or 3 first round worthy academy players next year - will they have to have 3 x 1st round picks to match bids on those players? Or will holding 1 x 1st round pick qualify them to match all the bids?
In the case of that, clubs won't be able to match multiple players. Because it'll be too expensive
If Lions had Ashcroft and Marshall next year instead of 2025, then unlikely they could get both unless they traded out a player.
Its a bit complicated, but suppose its possible if you have multiple first rounders. But if you dont, then you'd have an issueSo what you are saying the club/s will need to have equivalent round picks to match the bids? As an example Freo could match 3 x players in the 1st round this year...

Given the reduced discount and the new points index.
So for a club you'd hope you only have 1 player in the first round.
No, that was just a possibility. But that's not the case now.The changes arent just about points but are they - isnt there a rule where a club has to hold an equivalent pick in the round to match a bid? Obviously to prevent clubs trading out early picks for points.
Points only go down to end of 3rd round now, so you can still stockpile later picks to match bids, but they won’t be absolute junk picks we have seen previously, GC won’t be able to trade 1x top 10 pick into so many junk picks they can match 3x 1st round bids like they did last year because teams will be more reluctant to trade away 2nd and 3rd rounders than they were 4th rounders. No, that was just a possibility. But that's not the case now.
discount has been reduced to 10% for next year, and the points index has been changed, 1,000 points been shaved off and no points allocated to picks after 50 I think. So clubs cant stockpile late picks next year to match bids. So likely matching bids you'll need picks in the first and second and third round.
Look, I can’t keep up with the correct spelling of some regional cities in a Mexican state.
