he was certainly spoken about as the best key defender in the draft at one stage.
Correct, Armstrong best KPF, Shanahan a top 10 pick, Whitlocks being touted as top prospects, where did they all go in the actual draft not mock drafts?

im not going to argue with you.

The initial call out was he wasn't rated very highly when in fact he was. Earlier in the year. Concussions got out and he slipped, and slipped fast. Sure, he went much later but he was originally touted as a top 10 - 15 prospect

No it wasnt, we both said he was rated highly, I just pointed out it was in the media.

Yes, I see Fyfe and Hird qualities could be the steal of the draft, I’d play him as an attacking wingman/ High half forward next year and slowly bring him into the guts.
It just shows how deep this draft is. Essendon got a future second rounder for pick 45, and we were gonna take Rhys Unwin with that pick and somehow he slid to 61. Just shows how quality this draft will be.

That's what happens when you finish last and then trade out your most valuable assets. The ones feeling sick will be the Tigers fans when they are having a potentially winless season next year. Bottom out rebuilds are not the fun they seem. Trust me on this.
Not sure about trusting you on this as we dont know your background in list rebuilds but if you mean being a North supporter and suffering what you have last 5+ years then maybe you should consider this rebuild richmond has started to be extremely different to Norths rebuild.

We will go through 4-5 years of very bad to eratic games from kids but will come out the other side in better condition to what North produced in 2024 that i am sure of.

We have just drafted 8 very highly rated kids in 2024 and will get another 2 next year combined with banking the most cap space probably ever seen the next 3-4 years then we will cap cap trading coming into the AFL so that provides the opportunity to get a constant flow of 1st round selections and in 4 years we could have 15-16 1st round selections then we have free agent options to go after.

Not too sure if Noth had AFL premiership quality players like
Lynch , Broad , Vlastuin , Short , Balta , McIntosh , Prestia , Nankervis along side experienced players like Taranto , Hopper. ( 10 experienced and mature players to teach and guide)

Then we have some kids that were drafted recently that will start to get regular games with the players that have left retired.
Sonsie , Banks ,Clarke , Gibcus , Brown (all 5 picked inside 30 3 years ago)
Maurice Rioli , Ralphsmith , Ross , McAuliffe , Dow , Campbell & Smith all now having a few year of development now expected to show what they have.

North just cut their experience and went full ground zero without the quality leadership at the club and just relied on taking the 2 organic selections per year

Its a very different rebuild to what Richmond has done

Obvious question, but tigers supporters happy with their selections? Think you chose some rippers. Interested in the strategy too, lots of talls. A reverse-kanga, if you will 😂
Seems like alot of talls but if we look at in context of 2 draft 2024 & 2025 we could end up with the following

Mids
Lalor , Smillie , Hotton , Sharp , Rodriguez

KPP
Armstrong , Faull , Trainor

Ruck /KPF
Sims

Small foward
Alger

The West Coast melts if you take Rodriguez.

He is exactly the player we need to compliment Lalor , Smillie , Sharp , Mc Auliffe , Hopper & Taranto
beautiful dual sided kicking along with speed and agility and could end up another big body 185cm & 85 kgs just turned 17 could easily see another 3-5cm growth left in him

Sharp & Fred are the 2 mids id love the most in 25 draft

I'm not sure about Richmond's strategy. A lot of those players seem quite high risk, and I think the failure rate might be pretty high for a side who needs to rebuild everywhere.
A lot, ease up.

Which ones exactly?

Murphy Reid the stand out in this draft, will be starting for freo next year- leaps and bounds ahead of Erasmus, M.Johnson, O’meara in the mid rotation. Unique vision and poise. Eagles also had a great draft. The North trade is criminal.

To play AFL he's going to need improve his defense pressure. It's really poor.
