AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
We had a guy like that named Tom Mitchell.
I'm StumpfedStumpf?
Now just what the heck is that?!
Mitchell kicks on his right? Could have fooled me! He’s not Sam Mitchell you know!
Yes, Mitchell was good on both feet.
In the same fifteen years in the same range we picked 4 players who have played 150 games and two likely to play 200.Three good picks and Fogarty is solid for the Blues Weirdly missed him this year. That’s more than we have, I mean I get it we can’t pick everyone that says they want to stay home but where’s the line and at some point back your system
Yes, Mitchell was good on both feet.
Here's my rough breakdown of key/small-med forwards I would have been happy using a first round pick on.And this is a big call without really bothering to look at lists and consider how I rate players, but I get the sense that every year the gap between the total number of KPFs and small forwards on AFL lists that I'd be willing to trade a first round pick for is decreasing.
I only watched the gf once like most of us and thought we got smashed in clearances, but I looked at stats the other day and we actually won clearances +1 and lost contested possession by -2. Hard to believeand I am upset we have done nothing to address our clearance issues. Make the Grand Final again and the same thing will happen again.
For me it’s the mix. We have no KPP coming through academy, we can’t trade for them as we have no TPP and we need them for horses game plan and refuse to draft them…..
So I guess amartey will save us…. I think Richmond are a better chance to win the flag in 2025
People were adamant all year that 3 tall forwards don't work yet draft picks that suggest we're moving away from that are the end of the world? It's strange.
Granted, I'll admit I haven't followed much at all.
Have Chamberlain and King had growth spurts? As far as I'm aware, they are low 190s and Carmichael, the other touted kid is 183 odd.We are about to draft a 195cm intercept defender tomorrow from the academy and have two 198cm plus players next year from the academy that are looking to be drafted.
How is that no KPP coming through the academy.

Tbf pretty sure they were both 191cm at preseason testing this year so wouldn't be surprised if they are both 193cm now and could end up 196+. Think you also have to include McGroder and McCartney who are both talls in the year after that if they make it into the top 50 of their draft and choose AFL/SydneyHave Chamberlain and King had growth spurts? As far as I'm aware, they are low 190s and Carmichael, the other touted kid is 183 odd.
Maybe there's some late options that are KPPs, but probably not equivalent to getting quality talls this year.

Looking at Heeney in his draft year, just looks more solid. Bowman a bit taller sure.Same size speed and stamina
Maybe not the strength yet
Bowman - He is not a Hayward type
