Depends on whether or not I thought GWS would pinch him at 15. Would probably want a handshake deal prior. Would be surprised if Freo yoinked him, but it's still a risk.If Shanahan was on the board at #13 would you do the GWS trade?
We have 4 picks. The only key defender I would take prior to our third pick is Trainor. Would be happy to take him with our second. We are going tall. Key Forward/Key Defender
Scully was 204cm tall.Yes but there are much stronger bodies at AFL levels to compete against so if his competitive advantage is height and height only then it'll be an issue imo
Scully was poor overhead and had little forward craft, we took him with a late pick punt, but those who watched him a junior knew that he was poor overhead, he also came to the sport later hence his lack of craft. Whitlock is leagues ahead of him in quality and why your best quality kps come early in the draft.Scully was 204cm tall.
We cut him because he wasn't an "aggro" type of player! At least according to our forwards coach.
You'd normally allow at least 3 to 4 years development before making that kind of a call.
But ........ we are Port Adelaide, so ...
Not sure why people would think that Whitlock would be any different?
