I will be stunned if Marshall is not cooked.

Disagree with most of this, 2 x AA , Morish Medal winner, would be amazing get , but will gone by 13.

It may mean the former but doesn't mean the latter because Rat wasn't traded in as a forward. Regardless, we all know its a disaster.

We ended the 2024 season with a list of 38 + 5 rookies as we were allowed to take Evans in mid season draft as SPP was on long term injury list, as the maximum you can have at start of any season is 38 + 4 + 2 Cat B rookies, unless you are cellar dwellers like Norf and the Suns.

9 players have been cut/traded/retired - 1 was on the rookie list - Narkle so we went down to 30 + 4.

Traded in Lukosicous, Richards and RAtkins and have upgraded McEntee so we are at 34 + 3

We announced in July we will put basketballer Jacob Moss on Cat B Rookie list and looking at doing the same with Benny Barret as an NGA unless we have to match a bid in the national draft, so lets say we are at 34 + 3 + 2.

So that means can take a max 4 in National Draft + PSD and only 1 rookie spot.

If we take Tom Cochrane over Rome Burgoyne on the rookie list, then we are shaping up to go after his brother Doug/Douglas.

Darn I forgot about lukosious. Take out Sims and bring in Gross to my picks.

Agree wit this, good kick, good leadership skills and consistent player. But other than that there are a few flaws

One things for sure Twomeys draft won't be 100% accurate as it never is and you'd expect clubs to be more coy due the evenness of the first round in particular.

I think we are just inside the draft range at 13 to get a really good player.
Hoping for one of Shannahan, Allan, Reid or Travaglia at our first.

Addy- if we trade down from 50-70, we could match a bid for Benny Barret with 70. That actually reduces anyone’s incentive to bid on him at 50-69 making him more chance of slipping to us in the rookie draft, which is our best result as it gives us an extra list spot. A club is more likely to bid on him if they know we can’t match because we have no list spots left. If we get the last pick in the draft, we can get the best of both worlds.

If you're suggesting we trade out pick 50 into the last pick of the draft to make sure no one bids on him then yeah, its an interesting move. But regardless, either Barrett is our 4th pick or he's a rookie

The only full game I watched of his was against Vic Metro where he was BOG, most of his highlights were on the outside. He did go into the centre in 2nd half. His not great below his knees but he can break out of stoppage and move through traffic. But his more then a long leg, he lowers his eyes and drill targets regularly. Commentators were in awe of a few of his kicks in that game. Also won the Coates League BnF.

I wonder if there is an unwritten rule to not bid on ngas after a club has no pick to match. Only one team can have the last pick in the draft.

Jobe Shanahan is going to kick a lot of goals for whoever drafts him.

Ive watched Lindsays games about 10 times over. His stats dont lend towards being elite.

In 8 matches online this year he had
114 kicks
Only 34 of these were marked
He had 39 turnovers
43 were inside 50s and only 10 were marked inside 50.

In Round 2 he had 7 inside 50s for one mark
In Round 16 he had 6 inside 50s for zero marks
Round 17 it was 5 inside 50s for zero marks
Round 6 it was 10 inside 50s for 2 marks

The only game out of 8 where he had more than 2 marks inside 50 was the VM game where he had 4 marks from 6 inside 50s. Had 0 or 1 mark inside 50 in 5 out of 8 games

The kid is a long kick, but he cant hit leading targets consistently. So many are 2-3 steps too far in front and either dribble out of bounds or get turned over. His ball retention for an elite kick is horrid.

The stats and the vision dont back up Lindsay being the best kick in the draft or an elite kick. I will die on this hill

With 13 we take best available. Ideally we finish with a Forward or mid/forward, a tall back, a tall swingman and a ruck. But if Armstrong is best available at 13, so be it.

He literally doesnt lower his eyes. You watched the only game where he actually did that.

You can definitely see him hedging his bets on picks as you head to the edge and outside the top 10. And it's no surprise. Teams with multiple picks would like to vary their hand and choose for need sooner than expected. Twomey suggests Richmond could go early on Berry which would throw another player into our range. And he is confident Richmond will take Shanahan or Armstrong but it's a toss of the coin.

If we are staying at 13, and Shanahan and Reid are gone, its not Armstrong for me. Its Hotton (although I still wouldn't mind Hynes here but I dont want to open that can of worms again).
