If we are not putting work into Faull they are not doing their job. .
A mid that I like is Gross if we are looking for one at 29/36 . I hope we just go tall with the first three.

The comment read like we had upped our work into him recently, Twomey has been linking us to Shanahan/Whitlock/Faull for a while. That's why I wonder if we are considering a few scenarios with pick #13.

Gross looks like a hard nut (Angove looked a bit feisty too).

Davidson looks interesting, is he 190cm as listed? I saw some highlights where he rucked, looks a high energy player. Read he is studying medicine at Monash Uni.

What is your take on Jack Whitlock?

Jack Whitlock looks like a nice footballer. The problem with that is I like my talls to have a physical edge to them and I am not sure he has it. Skills are there but he is more your third tall forward who you can run through ruck. At 13 I would hate to pick him. At 36 I would have a swing at him if a number of other talks have been taken.
Yeah I saw Davidson listed at 191 and I thought he was taller.
Travaglia is one that I love in this draft, but we don't need him.

Hipwood is the #1 key forward in the current premiership team and would easily get a game for us. Not sure this is the criticism it is intended to be.
Not sure how he sits at the moment, but as of end of 2023 Hipwood had the lowest AFL ratings points of any player to play 100 games in the last seven years. I'm not arguing that AFL ratings are the be all and end all of analysis, but it is indicative of his lack of impact

Hipwood sucks, he'd be a seconds player on basically any other team including ours.

I know it doesn't get much more simplistic than reading the player comparisons on the Phantom Draft but the Nick Riewoldt comparison for Jobe Shanahan has me excited.

Describes himself as someone the crashes packs, takes marks and is a good set shot kick at goal.

Ok where do we sign?

Having said that i still think going smaller with either Berry or Reid would be good too.

Basically anyway that we can strengthen our ability to hit the scoreboard i support.

It's looking more likely that one of Shanahan or Reid fall to our pick. If we let either slip past, we'd be absolute fools.

I'd still go Reid, with Gerreyn at 29. But if it is Shanahan I wouldn't be mad either. Just don't know who we'd take in that case with 29, maybe it is Clarke which I also wouldn't mind as a player but as a need it's not a priority.

There's also interest in Polkinghorne from Collingwood it seems to take him using one of their 3 picks from 50s. Would've loved him at Port in the rookie draft.
I'm happy with any of shanahan, reid and Travaglia at 13. Surely one of them is there.

Addy23 - I really like Reid, Shanahan, Berry, Hotton, Travaglia and Armstrong at 13. Therefore, if only one was available at 13, I wouldn’t split that pick. If two were, however, I might consider splitting with GWS for 16 and 21 but not with anyone else.

My logic is if there is a chance of getting 2 of my top 13 by splitting 13, I will split 13. If I risk missing all of my top 13 I won’t do it. If I’m doing a pick swap, I would also swap 50 for a very late pick as insurance for Benny. I don’t want anyone pouncing on him at 50+ and not being able to match.

Who is on your “really like at 13” list that would lead you to try and split 13, if 2 or more were were available, using my logic. Also, is there anyone in the frame at 13 who, if available, you simply wouldn’t risk a split. For me Smillie and Allan are but not the 6 above. You?

Finally, what are the chances GWS do this swap: 13, 36, 50 for 16, 21, 74 or a variant of 13 for 16 and 21?

PS I completely ignore Kako Lombard Ashcroft and other FS and Academy prospect from my rankings, numbers etc- useless distraction as they will definitely be matched.
