I'm not against Armstrong, would still be happy if we ended up with him.

I just think he's too similar to Marshall/Luko.

Shanahan's style looks more compatible with Georgiades and our flood the forward line gameplan for me.

Think Marshall could have made 10 million by signing with the Hawks?

Good judges rate him.

That to one side Armstrong looks to have serious shoulders and arms. Strong on the lead, seems high IQ.

Don't see any down side here.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but I rate Matt over Jack Whitlock purely because he has a physical edge which is my concern with Jack. Maybe that stems from having played in defence a fair bit but he's more capable of pushing his opponent around using his body from what I've seen compared to Jack.

Parker also said that we would take a player in the first round according to how they rank them not on needs. He avoided saying we would try to get higher in the draft and a number of times emphasised that after the first 10 the rest of the top 25 were very even. That would suggest we'll wait to see who drops to our pick and if its not someone rated in our top 10 he might be happy to trade back with pick 13 to get more picks inside the top 25.

Think we’re all underrating Jack Whitlock a bit, a lot to like about him really, really agile for 200cm, good below his knees and actually plays with some footy nous.
I don’t want another Todd Marshall who is exactly who he reminds me of. I want a strong mark who has sticky hands. I worry about his ability when he gets body contact similar to how Todd struggles with it.

And just to clarify Todd is an okay player I am just hoping for a bit more with our pick 13 in what looks a strong draft.

If we are prioritising someone who can chop out in the ruck its a huge mistake.

Perfectly summarised, thank you. We need a commanding presence like Dixon was at least peak (hopefully with better set shot kicking). That doesn't mean I endorse the bomb to Dixon play at all (I hate it) but you need a key forward thats capable of that sort of aggression and physicality and currently we have none

Murphy Reid would be amazing but I have this feeling the saints are just gonna call him out at their pick 7/8. Look at their midfield and I just cant see how they don’t take a ready made mid.

Its exciting to have a relevant pick at the draft this year after a boring last couple years. Sucks that it cost us Houston but hope we make the most of this.
