I’m interested to know how people think we are going to buy our way higher up into this years draft.

A lot of other clubs thinking of doing the same who have far better future picks than we have to offer. If a deal goes through on the night I’d say we as a supporter group need to prepare to be rattled with just how much we actually give up.
We don’t have enough capital to get much further up than early 20s because we also need an f3 back, so will depend who slides and whether a club like Sydney GWS Richmond want future assets.

I really don't think we will need to trade up to get a quality player.
Pick 33 will get a very good player in this draft IMO.

There is a good selection of players who could be taken anywhere from 15-35.
I doubt every club is going to be in alignment on players 10-15, let alone 15-35.

Yeah I agree. They’ll have contingencies in place for just about every scenario. It will be very interesting to see just how much we value future picks if someone we have in the top 10 suddenly drifts beyond 16/17

That’s a good point I didn’t think of

My hope is we keep our F1 and use our pick 33 as our first pick this year.. It’s always expensive to move up the draft on draft night. We did very well at the trade period. We had a great year on field, we’ve become very marketable & gained terrific momentum to take into next year. We keep our F1 and big players will want to come so we need to keep our picks…I don’t like sitting out the first round but I’d prefer it to kept to this year rather than kick the can down the road..

Hannaford is a skilful version of Cody Anderson.
Twomey projects him at 27.
A good chance to slip to 33.
He'd be great with Watson in our forward line and has midfield potential too.

A true riser in the second half of the season, Hannaford has an explosive streak that caught the eye of clubs in a big way. After starting the year as a defensive option, he was swung forward in the second half of the Rebels’ campaign and kicked 21 goals from the final nine games of their year, including one goal from 24 disposals and nine tackles in the Coates Talent League Grand Final. He's a small forward who uses his strength and power for high impact and his highlights reel was fun to watch by the end of the campaign.

Where does he go? Hannaford was every club's hidden gem, before he wasn't and it turned out a lot were watching him but keeping it under wraps. It probably sees him come into contention in the second round, with Greater Western Sydney, the Western Bulldogs and Port Adelaide among the clubs to be interested.
