First pick is Ashcroft - Did you want him to not match the bid?
Second pick is Marshall - Did you want him to not match the bid?

Pick 62 - Brisbane - Harry Charlson (GWV Rebels/ VIC C)

I am assuming this is your first issue with his draft. Let's be honest, at this point in the draft it is a lottery and getting upset by this selection is a little noval. Feel free to suggest an option you would have preferred. We can look back with hindsight and see if Modern's selections was better than yours?
There’s a fairly strong rumour, from our local AFL.com reporter, that we’re going to take academy KPF Ty Gallop with our third pick. Remaining picks will be pushed into the rookie draft, and one kept for SSP for the Sam Day.

I'd like to thank all involved again this year...Really enjoyed it as always.

Found some new names I now need to find YouTube vids on, so along with the RMC compendium, I too can become the ultimate armchair expert.

Seriously though, I've long been a D+T tragic and love it...Thanks again peeps

Good drafting. I thought Fremantle and Hawthorn did particularly well.

I liked the picks of Artemis and Newton late. The Fremantle board knows I rate Newton as a late pick, I just don’t see him not forging a decent career. I had hoped to get Charlie West late, but it wasn’t to be. Lindsay and Davis were my favourite picks in the first two rounds.

Interesting draft though. Outside of the first round, there’s really only a handful of guys I’d consider ‘midfielders’. Whole lot of flankers. And the KPP stocks took a real hit after the run in the third round.

So in a few years time we can compare Ty Gallop v Charlson and have a little giggle.

Very true, on both points. :thumbsu:

so you think pick 62 is a lock for Ty Gallop? i mean he is a clunking mark and you can work with that i guess?
I was really impressed with he's semi against Willie on such a hard windy day for an 18 year old I'M not sure what the club does late but i wouldn't be pinning my hopes on Sam Day and drafting in a player that we have in depth of Andrews was pick 61

I don't believe it's a lock, but where the rumour comes from, AFL media on an ex club sponsored podcast, makes it somewhat likely.

We're only going to take 3 of the 6 picks we take to the national draft.

Well, that was a fantastic phantom draft. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It looks accurate too. Thanks to all who contributed to it.

While I think of it, were their any players who were a bit unlucky to miss out?
For mine, the following players I have ranked as potential ND prospects.

Josh Murphy
Luca Greggo
Pat Retschko
Oliver Warburton
Xavier Ivisic
Zaydyn Lockwood

Few other like Evan Bradley, Depaoli-Kubank and Louie Montgomery wouldn't surprise me either.

Greggo is the style of player I loved for many years, but they often don't get drafted.

Ivisic is very draftable in my eyes, I think I took him in the mock draft and I hope he gets onto a list.
Warburton is another player that was close to be selected by me a few times at the tail end of the draft.

The only 3 I have as ND worthy that didn't get picked up were Bowman, Mentha and Eastham (little bit of gippy love), but on the flip side there's 10 players in this draft I wouldn't look at until the rookie draft, and I think that variation is a good indication of the depth

GWS Summary

Pick 18 - GWS - Harrison Oliver (Sandringham Dragons/ VIC M)

Pick 19 - GWS - Jack Whitlock (Murray Bushrangers/ VIC C)

Pick 24 - GWS - Tom Gross (Oakleigh Chargers/ VIC M)

Pick 39 - GWS - Jack Ough (GWV Rebels / VIC C)

Pick 51 - GWS - Logan Smith (GWS Academy/ ACT) [Matched Bid, Used pick 52 to match)

Pick 68 - GWS - Cody Angove (Claremont/ WA)

It felt like the players I really wanted were always taken a couple of picks before mine, I had really wanted two of Berry, Lindsay and Hotton with my first two picks but they got taken the 3 picks beforehand, I really wanted Hayes with my 4th Pick but he got taken 1 Pick beforehand, but nonetheless it's still a haul to be happy with despite not getting much in the way of midfielders.

If trading was something we did I'd have happily offered 15 and 16 to the Saints to get Lindsay, and probably looked to do our pick in the 30s + a future pick to move into the late 20s for Dattoli

Pick 69. Geelong - Sam Toner - 186 - Forward - Dandenong Stingrays.

Write up latter.
That is such a Geelong pick - over ager who did it the hard way and who has shown rapid improvement

Since I have no idea what West Coast are doing, would you entertain 12 + 26 for 15 + 21 or 12 + 28 (ESS) for 16 + 21?
