The spell he has over the umps is mind blowing. I knew he’d shit it in the back half of the year when they had their injuries but he is literally getting all the votes when they were at full strength. Bont NEVER gets votes when he has 20 touches.Cripps just pulled 2 votes for a game he had 19 disposals at 47% efficiency LOL

That was Horne-FrancisWas 13 disposals wasn’t it?
We can't have it both ways.
If it goes on disposals then we can't complain that forwards and defenders (and probably ruckmen) don't ever win it. In fact we can dispense with the umpires votes altogether and just give the Brownlow to the player with the most disposals. Just like the Coleman goes to whoever kicked the most goals.
And that means Adz is this year's Brownlow medallist doesn't it?
But if you want the umps to ignore the disposals and the DT stats and award it according to the eye test (like, you know, who actually had a big impact on the game) then it makes sense that sometimes a player will get 3 votes for a game in which he had fewer than 15 disposals.

at least 2 or 3 games where bont has 30+ and multiple goals for 0 votesThe spell he has over the umps is mind blowing. He did, though he also sounded like he was going to be euthanised once he stepped off stage.
My comment was directed at the commentary in this thread. Why are we outraged that a player gets three votes even if he didn't get 20 disposals? They've got it both ways at the moment.
If certain stars get 30+, 3 votes. If they get 18, 3 votes
If you look at the predicted votes in the AFL tracker he'll end up with 41 votes which would be an all time record. But he'd only win it by 4 votes from Naicos (37) who would also have broken the old record of 36 votes (shared by Dusty and Wines). So from the posting here, I'm guessing Cripps is heading for a 40+ result?
