Jayden Short anyone?
If he is back to seagulling role he can go 100-105 I feel. 50% of his scores 100+ averaged just under 100 in a season of different roles.

Started to get kick outs again at end of year.

Could be a Top 6 defender for sure but plays R0 he will be an upgrade target for me

Will wait for Short to get Mid / Def DPP in round 6 ….. does appear he’s going back to his defensive seagull role ( last i heard)

Heavily reliant on kickouts too while playing defence. Alot of the premos are but him more so then others,
Feel like the stand rule hurt him, as players don't need to hand ball off to someone running past as much now, can just turn and go themselves. Getting those cheapies was Short's bread and butter.

But they have a new coach who may change their tactics, so we'll see I guess.

Shorty was a premo def at the time Roili was a spuddy Forward.

Wait and see on how short goes

Most of us have been burned by Houston in the past, but he finally put it all together last season. Was it just natural growth or was there a slight role change? Sicily for me is a lock, but im a little concerned over Daicos early on (bye + potential tag). Surely we have to consider Houston. 106 ave last season, great bye this year and is priced somewhat decently compared to the other defenders.

No reason he can't back it up but for not much extra you can get guys who have already done it for multiple years. Unnecessary risk for me. Always the risk he goes back on the wing too

Hardly seen a team without Hayden Young, does everyone believe the mooted move to midfield will increase scoring (does he have to?)?
Is this purely off the back of the last month of footy last season?
Was he a mid as a junior (genuinely asking as have no idea)?
How many recent half backs have increased their scoring when they‘ve gone into the midfield? Dawson definitely, Daicos doesn’t count.

Dunno

He's been quoted saying he's playing mid this year. Injuries the only real downside imo.

Based on his last month of footy .
Freo found something different with him in the mids .
He loves laying tackles and can find the pill .

Harry Shezzle another 500k guy who could beat his last year AVG...

Laird started as a halfback.

I don't think becoming a mid is always a guarantee to increase scoring. Sinclair for example seems to score better as a defender.

That said, Young never got the seagull role at the Dockers. Freo didn't look to play through him the way they do Ryan for some reason. Unless you get that role it's pretty hard to average 100+ as defender so he is probably better off as a mid.

He also provides them a point of difference with his size and disposal out of the middle so should get good minutes onball. Brayshaw and Serong are guns but small and not exceptional kicks.

Hard to see Will Brodie getting back into that team ..

Sinclair seem to score better after the bye .
Maybe got used Ross
Did score a 160 ..

I think he'll improve and be top 6 back again .

He was the 5th ranked defender in 2023
