I still reckon we will trade for 2 on the night. North will take 10 + 20.

We'll go...

1. Lalor
2. FOS
6. Smillie
11. J. Whitlock
18. Joe Berry

The remaining picks no idea.
i don’t think they will. Too much risk of Tauru not being there.

i just can't wrap my head around the cooper hynes love, after watching some of his game footage, i feel like out of most of the top 20-25 players he's the most likely to be a bust, and doesn't even have that high of a ceiling

especially having us pick him when there's a chance we pick 2/3 "similar"-ish players in lalor/langford/smillie/allan who imo have better traits and more ability to translate their game to the top level

idgaf if his favourite player was dusty

I’m fairly confident Norf will do something. They didn’t create 2 list spots for guys in the 60s.

So pick 2 to Crows for 4 and F3… sure I guess but doesn’t give Norf anything extra this year and why for F3?

Saints - 8 for 16 + 21 from GWS, then 7+16 for 2. Complicates it involving another team in a 5 min window, obviously can be arranged beforehand but has to happen before pick 2 is taken, meaning GWS need to be confident who they want is at 8. Plus if we take Lalor doesn’t sound like Saints will do it. That being said think this is most likely outcome not involving us.

Otherwise it’s 7/8 + F1, given Norf want picks this year I don’t see this happening, sure they can trade back in with it, but it’s just a further complication in a deep draft where us and GWS are really the only trade out suitors.

Final option not including us, I think is finding a willing buyer for their F1. But who?

Saints I doubt it in top 10.

WCE already hated by their fans for 3 to 12, and sound like they want the hawks future pick to get back into draft

Freo were desperate to stay in this draft, I assume for a plug and play type not waiting 12 months

Same for Port

GWS, maybe? But again being close to a premiership I reckon they’d prefer cost controlled plug and play types given their cap problems and loss of Perryman, Cummings and Peatling.

Jack Ross vibes?

Why the **** do we keep creating new threads.... we need to keep the other one pinned for prosperity purposes, the look back in 6 years times will be elite. I cant wait for Big Footy reputations to be absolutely savaged.
Miserable campaigner

Bo Allan is the perfect Jack Graham replacement. Dog shit for dog shit.

You lost me at 'I'm'

It seems like Langford is going to be the one to slip out of that group, and all the noise is that we prefer Smillie to Langford.

Watched another game with them both, Smillie is sharper with skills, he is a great kick too (Langford is very good). If he learns how to use his height he will be a one on one beast in the square. Something I would risk.

For those saying the Tiges don’t need to draft a ruckman with one of the later picks. That is not a wise strategy considering how many picks we have.

For starters, the rucks on the list currently.

Nank, 2-3 years of solid footy left
Samson, is a more a forward than ruck, will never be the no.1 ruck in the AFL. Has been a slightly better version of Vickery so far.

The two Rookies, Colina and Hayes-Brown are fighting to become VFL standard players. Colina has hardly played footy.

Now, I haven’t seen a tonne of footage of Dodson. Although by the limited footage and some of the notes on him, it seems he is one of the most athletically gifted rucks to come through the draft the past few years.

Yes we struck gold when getting Nank, which in hindsight gave us 3 flags and costed Sydney 2.

Getting a young quality ruck in to develop under Nank would be a good way to transfer the culture Nank, Maric and Co. developed over the past 7+ years. And saves us from panicking trying to find a ruck from another club when the players we draft this year are ready to contend.

So no chance if we take FOS at 1, Lalor doesn’t get to 6?

Disregarding bidding.

1.FOS - Richmond

2.Sid Draper- crows- linked to a trade with north to get him

3.jagga smith- Carlton

4. Tauru - north

5. Langford - Melbourne

6. Lalor - Richmond ??

interesting Cal Toomey has us more interested in Whitlock over Armstrong.
I posted a while ago that I think Tiges are keen on J.Whitlock and would most likely jump @ 10/11 and some posters on here weren’t too happy aha.

Blair has been chasing that tall high marking forward for a few years.

Attempts at JUH and M.King recently and interest in T.Marshall early days.

Whitlock is in the same mould as those forwards. And could develop into our Lynch replacement.

Take him @ 11 and it leaves the possibility of getting Matt Whitlock @ 18 or 20.

Both those boys are fairly athletic and have the ability to play multiple roles.

Armstrong is your old fashioned type full-forward in the Jarrod Roughead mould. I see more of a Waterman type athlete (power, strength) than a J.Cameron type athlete (endurance, ground ball ability)

Just depends on what type of player that club wants.

Ok …. left field ….

Trade 1 to Crows for 4 and a F1.

Crows: Draper
North: Tauru
Blues: FOS
Tigers: Lalor
Demons: Jagga
Tigers: Langford/Smilie

We get the same players and pick up a F1 in the process.

And let’s say North take Lalor.

Just means we get Jagga and Smilie/Langford… and still get Adelaide’s F1.

Obviously if we believe Lalor is a clear #1 we wouldn’t entertain this risk … but if we have a ‘blanket’ ….. would Crows do this? If they’re threatened by Blues getting Draper and if he’s their clear cut #1. Why not?

possibly slower, i also checked the draft guide after rewatching his stuff the other day and i pretty much guessed all of his "stats" correctly although i would've said average ceiling and disposal but i only saw stuff from 4 games and rookieme would've watched much more

also this was hilarious to watch, maybe he is a richmond player at heart with this screw up

Ok …. the deals that will go down on draft night - no inside knowledge, just logic:

1. Crows trade 4 to North for 2 as worried about Carlton taking Draper.

2. As part of deal Crows trade a F1 for North’s F2.

3. Then we trade one of our later picks when it comes to North for Crows F1.

So Crows get Draper for a pick slide in 2025.

North get Tauru and the extra pick they desperately need in 2024 draft.

We solidify our draft hand in 2025, trading out a 20’s pick for Crows F1.

*question …. can a team ‘not on the clock’ on draft night live trade picks? So if it’s at pick 14, can we live trade pick-20 for Crows F1 from North .. ie. get in before GWS potentially trade 15 or 16 for it.

**next question … if we are at pick-18 and ‘on the clock’, can we live trade pick-23 for Crows F1 because we are the team ‘in control’?

Or can live trading only be done involving the pick currently in action on draft night?

I'm pretty attached to us using one of our picks in the 20s on Angus Clarke. Think he will forge a better career at half back than Travaglia. Clarke has the full package and at 190ish cm is a really nice size to both dash / create but also defend a variety of forwards. His also shown he can win it back, as well as take kick ins. He had a few injuries which limited his exposure this year, but he managed a senior game in the SANFL with Glenelg and won his share of the ball despite looking about 70kgs ringing wet. It's a yes please from me Blair
