If were tossing up between FOS and Lalor pick 1, there's not a chance we pass him up at 6/7.

The more I think about it the more I reckon the tigers are not going to go the way we all think. I reckon they'll be thinking the Lalor/Smilie combo is too high risk - both players are relatively high chances of being a bust. Both have massive ceilings but they are far from being guaranteed good quality players at AFL level.

I reckon they'll either go Jagga at 1 OR planning to trade to get 2 so they can get a Jagga/Lalor combo to offset the risk.

This is taking up way too much of my headspace.

I think it's extremely unlikely that FOS is available but if he got to 6 and we've taken Lalor I would be doing everything to get pick 7 off StKila for 10.

Walking away with Lalor, FOS and Smilie and then throw in Lindsay or Reid at 10 and our midfield is set should they all make it. Add the number 1 pick next year and you've got a dominant midfield in 5 years time.

Lalor and Smillie will be good afl players. They’re good characters with good skills and good decision making.

Plus I’d argue the Tigers have a history of taking high upside players with risk at first pick, apart from 2010-2014 when we went with “safe” picks and Higgins in 2017.

It’s easier to find a good solid player then find a Cotchin or Dusty, and those types skew towards the top of the draft.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I hope we don't pick either of the Whitlocks...they both look meek in the highlights i've seen. Happy to be proven wrong but i'm yet to see anything special or even an ounce of mongrel hence certainly not worth a 1st rounder imo.

Dodson looks great as a long-term ruck but not worth a 1st rounder either as there's much better talent available to us.

Jack Whitlock is my no 1 choice for talls.
He’s added10 kg to his frame, 200cm + , excellent vertical leap, excellent endurance for a tall, and great hands.
I reckon we’ve only seen a fraction of how good he’s going to be. Late developer, huge upside.
It’d be nice to also grab Mat, as you say depends on what other talls we take in the 20s.

If FOS gets to 5, which seems to be a chance.

Trade our future first 2025 to Melbourne for 5 and 9 and say to Melbourne, YZE can say it, we are playing the kids we are very likely to be last in 2025, we will be doing a lot of experimenting in 2025, with set/ups/rotations, we are fully invested in this draft and playing them, our future depends on it. Melbourne will want more than future first so give them later pick(s) in 2024 to Melbourne

Then trade for Saints pick 8 with later picks we have, use pick 11 if we have to

I know Blair supposedly is not taking calls but RFC should be considering all trade possibilities to get us in the best position to accumulate and put us in the best position to win premierships down the track
