After listening to Dave Misson, you can lock in St Kilda taking two mids at 7+8 if they hold those picks

Confirming this was Club X?have just sent an email to the club and informed them that if we don't go lalor and smillie with our first 2 picks I will be going on a indefinite sex strike

Shouldn't be blinkered. It will depend on who is available and the offers we get.We can only afford to trade into 2025 once with one pick. We need to Take our other picks are start the rebuild now in this 2024 draft.

agreed! Dont think dees or saints will trade a pick after getting themselves into such a good draft position. The only ones are North or crows. North for obvious reasons doesnt look like happening. Crows may not either but i wouldve thought theyd be open to sliding to get an extra pick in the 20's. If we got 1,4,6 and kept one of 10/11 we'd absolutely smash itI think we should make an effort to get 3 of Lalor, Langford, FOS, Jagga, Draper and Smilie by trading picks with Melbourne or St.kilda.

Crows probably eyeing Jagga or even Bo Allan, so we could get creative with Pick 10/11.....If Draper goes before pick 4, the Crows could be very interested imo.
As a couch/forum/Media/YouTube draftee enthusiast from post season onwards, I have decided to give my mock draft from 3 different perspectives.
1. What I think will happen. (Basing it off media and 'expert' rumour.)
2. What I want to happen. (How I want us to draft just off what I have seen, possible potential and what i think the fans will enjoy watching develop over the next 2-3years, This will require a lot of luck our way.)
3. What will probably happen. (Because the overwhelming majority of my takes I get wrong, just ask Michaels.)
Top 10 and our pick predictions.

If we could bag Lalor, FOS, Smillie and Allan with our 1st 4 picks it will really set us on our way. I know this is a big longshot but Allan off halfback rotating into the middle, Smillie and FOS in the guts with Smillie being able to go forward, and then Lalor starting up forward and rotating into the guts would be very exciting to watch over the coming years. Combine that with the excitment machine Hotton (after recovery) with his pace and x-factor coming out of the midfield, and a couple of Development forwards in Shanahan and Gerreyn. Finish it off with Dodson who can develop with Colina and Hayes-Brown in the Reserves.
Michaels..... imagine a world where Draper is on the board at Pick 6!Look there was that one Brayden Preuss call
With these lists, what I would find very interesting is in your first list with our 2nd pick.
Lot's of talk we have been linked to Smillie at 6, but if somehow Jagga is still there at 6, I wonder if that throws a spanner in the works for that pick?
The only other players I'm a little iffy on are the Whitlocks. And thats simply because I just don't know how they will develop.
But having said that, 'In Blair we trust', if he thinks they tick boxes and will become good players, I'll back him!
Bit of Darcy Parish about him?Murphy Reid is probably the most situational based midfield prospect in the top end of the rankings.
He’s going to need to get to a club that can hide some of his deficiencies so he can get to work on his strengths.
There’s a decent amount of question marks around his defensive running and that he will be a bit of a liability on that side of the footy at times. This was hidden fairly well at the dragons this year and he was able to get on the move a lot earlier from stoppage which allows him to have the time to create his magic with his disposal.
He didn’t test at the combine but fair to say he would not have been one that was going to shock anyone with his athletic abilities.
In the right situation the type of player Reid is is extremely effective. But in the wrong mix his type can be exposed really badly.
I think he may well be the one that could slide a lot further than what people are expecting. Possibly into 20’s.
Michaels..... imagine a world where Draper is on the board at Pick 6!
Draper, Smillie, Langford.... who you taking.... you'd throw the sink to get 7 from Saints perhaps....
Queue Daffy Duck?
If those 3 are on the board at pick 6 I'm 100% with you in getting pick 7 from the saints.
and that might look like pick 10 or 11 plus pick 18 or 20 for example, but if the nett result is we can walk away with:
1. Lalor
6. Smillie / Draper / Langford
7. Smillie / Draper / Langford
I think you have to do it.
Personally I would go:
Lalor
Draper
Smillie
then you still roll into pick 10 which could still be an Xavier Lindsay / Murphy Reid / Taj Hotton / Travaglia / Bo Allan
Would just mean our key forward would have to come later.
half these first rounders are going to be duds so let's not get too excited. last years first round for example was full of dross outside of H. Reid.
