Hey guys, long time Richmond tragic, and have enjoyed the banter and opinions of us supporters. (Mostly)
I love how Richmond have possisioned themselves in this draft and for our comeback, and have seriously changed my mind two times over with everything to do with this draft. Take that guy over that guy, swap picks don't swap pick...we need speed, no we need size... maybe a key forward ....I'm loving it, it's very exciting. But could you please answer the thing that has me wondering 🤔
Why didn't we do that. And that is why didn't do Baker and11, for 3? We would now have 1,3,6,10 and most of the end of first picks that we currently hold? From there we could easily do anything we wanted.
We would have lost picks 10 + 14 (which we got for Baker) for pick 3
Fremantle would have trade 10 + 18 for Bolton

Draft hand would have been 1,3,6,18 ... compared with 1,6,10,11,18 ...
10+11 > 3

Big decision to be made by Tigers.

North all but confirming FOS at 2 unless suitable trade is offered

This leaves Tigs with Lalor and Slow Poke Langford..Dee's taking Smile. Jagga and Draper going to Blues and Crows.

Tigs have 2 choices to avoid this disaster.

Option 1. Pick one of the sure fire speedy mids (FOS, Smith, Draper) and then Langford at 6 can compliment this.

Option 2. Trade 6 and 18 to North and guarantee yourself a dynamic midfield.

You don't give up a chance of the one 2 punch when you only have to give up one pick in the late teens.

P.S anyone coming back to me with "The Tigs will just take Tauru at 6" I say to you "LOL".

This is not a troll but good reliable experienced genuine advice.

You can taste the desperation from norf and it's delicious. Enjoy FOS and your pick 62. We will enjoy the 8 picks in the top 24

The reasoning for going early on Allan instead of Smillie so Allan doesn't get picked in next 3 makes zero sense. What if Smillie does? Then you end up with 1 of the ones you want but the worse one lol
If we go Allan at 6 then we clearly rate him higher than Smille. Our WA recruiter has a brilliant track record with the likes of Bolton, Baker, Stack, Pickett and Blight, Green and Smith still developing so deserves our support if we go this way.

If we rate him higher then it is what it is. Just Twomey's explanation makes no sense. Would just never happen.

Looks like Cal might be getting some disinformation from the other clubs about what we're likely to do and also trying to piece together what we're doing from who we're interviewing. He did say that we're pretty much interviewing everyone, as we should given the amount of picks we have.

I think he's saying Allan because Blair flew over to WA, guess he had to but there would have been other interviews, Gerreyn for instance.

Blair could also be throwing out a few furphy's to the other clubs, he's not taking calls from the media, he wouldn't talking to clubs about our intentions either.
Cal is trying to second guess what all 18 clubs are doing , so might be stretched a bit thin

what some of the bits I've gleaned from various shows , we seemed to have talked to pretty much most of the top 30

but with upto 8 picks to use in a "super draft" it just looks like due diligence to me , plus we have had a good talent spotter in the West (Broad, Baker , Bolton , K Mac , Steely , Blight , Pickett , Parker... and plenty more ) so again no surprise if that person or group have a short list of serious talent to sus out again
