Cal saying Bo Allan in the mix for us at pick 6. You’d have to excuse me but I would f***ing melt. down.

Clarke must be eyeing a Allan/Reid trade next year.

I didn't read anything in here but just wanted to come in and say I just saw someone on YouTube had photoshopped a Blues jumper onto FOS and I started to dry reach.
Anyways bye.

Your search history must be very not interesting

Sorry, just catching up on the thread from the weekend.

So whats the consensus again? We taking Israel or Palestine with pick 1? Have we spoken to the UN yet about trading up to pick 2?

Israel seems the risky pick, but can be quite explosive through the packs. I'd steer clear.

**I blame the AFL for the thread derailment, Draft should be tonight, starting the week off.

I'd carefully reread that article.

"The more extreme elements of Israeli and Palestinian society, and their political leaders, have forestalled negotiations at critical moments."

Israel is as guilty as any Palestinian group in making the current situation. You said "The key point is that the Israelis would happily live inside their own borders." But Israel has continually increased the size of those borders, by illegally creating settlements and then having their military protect them. That is an I win, you lose situation.

Hamas and the PA are appalling.

It's depressing, with no clear way out.

And that is not mentioning the impact of Iran, Russia, USA, Saudi Arabia etc in the mess.

I shouldn't have responded. Let's talk the draft
1948 Israel established in a Palestine ~ former British colony. Lots of horror at WW2 German treatment of Jews. Jewish First Arab Israel war.
1978 ~ Camp David Accord.
However, while Israel successfully kept the peace with Egypt, it did not abide by its commitments to Palestinians in the Accords. The five-year deadline for beginning to grant Palestinian people autonomy within the West Bank and Gaza came and went, and Israeli settlements in the occupied territories ballooned.

1993 Oslo accords Israel maintain military presence in Gaza.

2024 Israel still at war

Genuine question, how’s Allan comparable to RCD. I feel their traits and strengths are quite different?

RCD was very one dimensional, lacked versatility and intensity. Where as Allan can play both inside and outside, has played plenty of football off the back flank and has a great attack into the contest/footy.

I feel this is just a lazy approach to compare him to a failed big bodied midfielder.
The other thing to consider is RCD was more of a slider on draft night that in the end we took a risk on at 20 iirc so there were issues that clubs felt were to big of a risk to take early. Whereas Allen it seems his stock is rising more and more each day so clearly there is a lot of things that clubs love about him.

Actually, I believe in a two-state solution. The Israelis have offered peace deals many times. Check out this article for a quick history lesson. The key point is that the Israelis would happily live inside their own borders.

Why isn't there peace? Because Israel keeps getting attacked. If you want a "free Palestine" then you need to take it up with Hamas and (before them) the PLO. These are brutal terrorist organizations who seek the destruction of Israel, launch terror attacks to murder innocent civilians and use their own citizens as human shields.

But, you know, free speech and all that. Say what you want. Believe what you want. Maybe don't go around throwing stones at other people because of a stupid username.

This is both untrue, and Zionist propaganda, nevertheless, it has nothing to do with the draft, and you should be banned from this thread for spreading this garbage

Cal is trying to second guess what all 18 clubs are doing , so might be stretched a bit thin

what some of the bits I've gleaned from various shows , we seemed to have talked to pretty much most of the top 30

but with upto 8 picks to use in a "super draft" it just looks like due diligence to me , plus we have had a good talent spotter in the West (Broad, Baker , Bolton , K Mac , Steely , Blight , Pickett , Parker... and plenty more ) so again no surprise if that person or group have a short list of serious talent to sus out again
an update , our talent spotter in the west sounds like its Sam Cousins who's been in the role for 14 years , explains a bit
and the club has been involved in 50 home interviews ahead of the draft

to me anyway , it does sound like the club has done the leg work , now fingers crossed it turns in to 8 solid or better picks

an old junior coach used to say "the harder you work the luckier you get"
