If we rank Allan/Smillie about evenly (per Bob) and reckon one of them will be there at 10, surely we're still looking at a trade for 2

We'd be counting on the Saints to not take either Smillie/Allan, assuming one of them goes to the Dees at 9 (likely Allan). Maybe the Saints take Travaglia and Lindsay? Might be the case that one of Smillie/Allan only makes it to 10 if the Saints/Dees can take Tauru at 7/8/9, but then our worst case scenario is Lindsay at 10 which is still great.

Some best/worst case scenarios with our first 3 picks:

Say we do 6 + 20 for 2

• Best case scenario: Lalor FOS Smillie. Very very enticing, 10/10
• Second best case scenario: Lalor FOS Allan. Reckon the club would consider this almost as good as best case. 9.9/10
• Worst case scenario: Lalor FOS Lindsay. Still a fantastic outcome. 9.5/10

If we hold our current picks

• Best case scenario: Lalor Allan Smillie. Great outcome, as good as the worst case scenario above. 9.5/10
• Second best case scenario: Lalor Allan Lindsay. Still good but less exciting. 8.5/10
• Worst case scenario: Lalor Allan Travaglia (or similar). 7.5/10

This is obviously subjective af but looking at the possible outcomes I'd be willing to trade pick 20 to at least have a crack at the best case scenario it gives us access to (Lalor FOS Smillie). The worst case scenario from doing that is still as good as the best case scenario we currently have available to us IMO.

Was WAFL seniors, and he played as a defender there. Playing mids for WA in the U18s, he averaged 20.

A midfielder averaging 20 at underage level in WA screams ‘issue’ to me. If we are looking at Allan, I’d 100% trade 6/11 for 2 and F1 and take Lalor/Jagga as they’d complement each other perfectly.

If Jagga doesn’t end up a superior player to
Allan I’ll eat my hat.
