Only if it is via the pre season draft. Would not go near a Ruckmen in the National Draft

Hynes is not a 3rd tall forward. Hes a general forward, can crumb, can snap, good at stoppages, can mark.
On top of that hes a competitive tough nut, a clear list need.

He's a power athlete who has only really had 24 months of semi professional training. Club is excited about what he can do in peak condition which will take a couple of years.

Mick Ablett compared him to Stringer in the coverage, I can see that.
Seems like a good kid too.

Clean up your spilt milk and get around him. He has huge upside.

Agree, I like what I’ve seen of him. A tall powerful player that can play pretty much everywhere including mid. Could be a Stringer/Kouta type!

I'd do 37, 39 & F3 for 29. The next 6-7 ranked players all look to KPP types. Take two kids with 31 & 37 and Davidson at 39.

Port are still interested aswell but I can't see them having what it takes to make it happen. I believe Fremantle are no longer in play.

Some may knock the fact he got most of his disposals from kick ins but I think that just means he’s reliable

One of the SA Carnival games, I believe he took absolutely every kick in or nearly every one.

Who do people prefer out of Tom Gross and Jack Ough?

I prefer Gross over Ough
Ough has a better kick & more size but Gross gets to a lot of contests and always puts himself in dangerous positions
Ough spreads from the contest and becomes a skilful link up player, Gross is diving head first into a contest and is digging it out

Personally, I’d take that. 4 picks inside 40 this year and a second F2 for next year is a great result.

There's Jacob Molier who has a lot of really good traits and whose biggest problem is that he's got no tank; very fast and with great ruck craft & was a key forward before his growth spurt. He's pretty raw at the moment so if we got him then we'd be anticipating that he won't be ready to play for a while yet.

There’s a bit of calmness about him, and he makes good decisions.
He trusts his kicking depth.
On one of his tapes he nails a 50+ mtr kick to a leading player.

Not sure if he can play wing ?

But jokes aside. Great deal to take if its true. A better hand for next season, and we get three picks in the 30s.

So the 37 is the original 35 we traded to Brisbane. Including the Brisbane trade we are effectively swapping 29, and 48 for 31, 39 and probably getting a 20's pick next year for a 50's pick. Not bad.

That's a good offer and very much enabled by the trade we did with Brisbane, which allows us to still get the guy we want (i.e Moraes or Clarke) two picks later.

Makes a LOT of sense from Essendon's perspective also. They're downgrading an F2 for an F3 and loose change from the Kako bid coming later than they planned, and getting access to one of the highest-rated talls.

Wouldn't surprise me if they go hard at Richmond's pick however, assuming it' Shanahan they want.

It's the same offer infront of us and Richmond obviously Richmond having the earlier pick have first right of refusal and even if tigers did decline if they take the player Essendon are after a deal with the dogs would be mute.

Or we could look to take Shanahan and send Naughton down back. I really like Shanahan. Was great in the Dons VFL stint. I get we are stuffed with talls but competition is a good thing and we can take Gross to round out.
