FYI

Will add a 2024 NAB Draft & Trade tracker thread, stickied.

Tag me when we have a confirmed trade/draft and I will update the thread accordingly

This is the perfect scenario.

I think power as been alluding to it. And by all reports we went hard for pick 13.

Brad Johnson made a comment in his list analysis of bulldogs on SEN that he thinks our biggest need is a shai Bolton type.

The combo of Hotton and Berry would be magic.

FF JUH Darcy Cody
HF Hotton Naughton Berry
R English Ads Richards
C Williams Bont Freijah
HB Bramble Lobb Dale
FB Duryea Jones JOD

West, Libba, Kennedy, Sanders, Gags

Now obviously it more realistically might be a combo of Berry/Hotton and Hannarford.

But the objective is simple.. we simply need fast connecting players on half forward line.

The side looks much better suited for modern game from my best 22 posted.

Berry was briefly coached by our newly appointed development coach Reid. Nice little tie-in if we do land him.
Hoping we get into his range.

Are you saying giving up F1 & 17 ? Or F1 & 25 ?

Even if we don’t select him I’d still like Davis to be available at our first selection so I hope the Eagles look at someone else if Allan is gone
I like Davis, would be happy to select him if Hannaford, Hotton, Berry and Lindsay all off the table but the fact is, if he gets selected before our pick one of the aforementioned most likely slips to us

I’m a bit torn between Davis & Hannaford
Berry would be the ultimate one though

Berry and Weightman together, the small forward duo that opposition supporters love to hate

Funny in the Big footy phantom I took both Hannaford and Davis with our first two picks. Would take Hannaford all day every day though. For mine, I'd be very surprised if Davis goes any higher then 20. I think 25 onwards is more his range (a good chance of being available at our 2nd pick) because he lacks the high end traits of other's around him. Has high end endurance and footy IQ then a lot of good to average qualities with very few weakness in his game. Very low risk money ball option basically. I was pretty torn between he and Angus Clarke who has more high end traits IMO, but is a much higher risk.

I’m shocked that overall Angus Clarke doesn’t get more love than he’s getting because after Sid Draper he’s probably the best SA has got

Never really bought into any Dodson hype
Just think there’s a scarcity of decent rucks in this draft but that’s just my opinion

I agree on Dodson, I had him mid 20's, but the more I watched the further back I put him. What's your thoughts on Lachie Jaques? He's another with the more I watch, the less I become a fan of.

I keep watching the Vic Country games over and over and over again
And the more I see of Jaques it is the same problem I’m having with trying to like Lindsay, they look excellent with plenty of time and space but when they’re been pressured it really shows a gap between them and those early selections

Going back to Hannaford though, the kid plays like an energiser bunny that’s snorted enough cocaine to make Tony Montana blush

Not sure we would pull the pin but I think Kayle Gerreyn is the pick of the ruckman this year. He seriously gives me Patrick Ryder vibes.

Few rookie type rucks I'd look at in Molier and Harding. But not the best year for rucks.

Yeah I love Gerreyn and Dennis outside of that first round
Both play with that level of aggressiveness without been reckless

If he makes it to 35 or whatever our third pick is it would be pretty hard to pass him up on talent alone. Really hard to see him getting past those two picks the WA clubs have after our second selection though.

These two I wouldn't mind as late/rookies. Both have elite traits.

Zac Harding
State: Victoria Country
State League Club: Murray Bushrangers
Community Club: Wodonga
Date of Birth: 01/01/2006
Height: 199cm

Ruckman who had a strong second half of the season after a broken finger curtailed his development early in the season. Mobile and very competitive, his kicking was a feature of his game for the Murray Bushrangers after he returned from school football. Averaged 15 disposals and 23 hitouts in eight matches, including having 28 disposals, 26 hitouts and kicking two goals in an outstanding game against the Dandenong Stingrays in Round 14. Is the son of former Fitzroy player Dean Harding, who played 19 AFL games in the early 1990s.

Jacob Molier
Pronunciation: Molly-air
State: South Australia
State League Club: Sturt
Community Club: Onkaparinga Valley
Date of Birth: 11/10/2006
Height: 201cm

Ruckman/tall forward who has grown 6cm in the past nine months after only playing three games in his bottom-age year due to injury. Had a very promising season at under-18 level with Sturt, playing 18 matches and averaging 11 disposals, four marks and 19 hitouts, as well as kicking five goals. Is still honing his ruck craft and building his body and strength, however he has good fundamentals including being a neat kick. Was a standout at the state Draft Combine in Adelaide with his 2.92 seconds for the 20m sprint ranked fifth at the event.

I thought about Gerreyn at 35 in the phantom draft. I'd really rather take as many smalls as possible in the earlier rounds though as we have spent a lot on talls in other drafts. I don't mind your suggestion of taking a ruck in the rookie draft, not really liking a lot of the options available (unlike last year), both those may appeal though. Was thinking more a mature option like Kuol mun tied to Geelong's VFL team may be an option too, haven't seen enough to have a strong opinion though.

McGowan’s Age prediction is a bit depressing, has Berry, Hotton and Hannaford going immediately before our first and us taking a sliding Murphy Reid there, which I think would be a poor fit for us.
Although Reid doesnt give us legspeed. He adds something different to our mids/fwd half. Oozes class and great in traffic. Caleb Daniel replacement.

Can you post the age article for those who don’t have the subscription?

Murphy Reid plays a lot like daicos from the highlights I have watched. I’d have thought he would be a great list fit
