I'd be over the moon if Reid was available at our pick. Not only would he be a great list fit he would be able to slot straight into a half forward or wing role.McGowan’s Age prediction is a bit depressing, has Berry, Hotton and Hannaford going immediately before our first and us taking a sliding Murphy Reid there, which I think would be a poor fit for us.
Agree except we'll be pushed well back from 17. So we'll more likely be selecting from your 25 list at 17.
I'm all in on Hannaford at 17 (22?), unless Berry slides.
Yeah he's a classic 'footballer first, athlete second' type.I'd be over the moon if Reid was available at our pick. Not only would he be a great list fit he would be able to slot straight into a half forward or wing role.
Has a great endurance base and although not quick he has great evasive skills. He'd also walk in as one of our best kicks going inside 50 after Richards.
Hopefully in an elite environment he will be able to improve those aspects, alot of young men don't mature until their 20s.Yeah he's a classic 'footballer first, athlete second' type.
On vision, he just does all the basics well.
Murphy Reid is top 5 in rookie me for ranking so sliding to dogs pick would be a great steal. His profile says he is not elite in explosive speed but is close. I expect he's Treloar level.
That would be a very vanilla draftSay we took Oliver with our first selection, does that mean we still go for Clarke with one of our next selections? Something like Oliver, Davidson/Clarke
Still leaves us with a gap to fill in the forward line but if options are limited I’d rather a more speculative small forward taken in the rookie draft
Who are your favourites? That would be a very vanilla draft
Alger might slip to our third?Say we took Oliver with our first selection, does that mean we still go for Clarke with one of our next selections? Something like Oliver, Davidson/Clarke

His testing was similar to Harry Sheezel in pre season testing. He's more an agile type rather then a Treloar type.
EDIT: This is his testing
20m - 3.03 (above average)
Agility - 8.390 (good)
Yoyo - 21.6 (elite)
My main concern with Reid is he may not be a genuine mid at the next level. Could be a Lipiniski type where he's better used on the flanks. Bit small and not overly physical.
Alger might slip to our third?
Unwin as a later pick?
I think if Hannaford/Berry/Hotton are all picked before our first pick there is a pretty good chance we will end up with Hynes, just a gut feeling. Especially if we see him developing into the full time midfield role.Say we took Oliver with our first selection, does that mean we still go for Clarke with one of our next selections? Bit of a weird phantom from what I saw. If Ough doesn't go inside the top 40 I'll eat my hat.McGowan has Alger going before our 2nd pick. Apparently the new flavour of the month.
Hopefully someone with abit of upside for our first pick ideally like a berry , hotton or Hannaford. I’d be happy with the rest you mentioned after thatWho are your favourites?
Might end up been a vanilla draft but I’d rather vanilla over a shit sandwich

I deleted it from my comment above but I see him as a short Lipinski. I like Lipinski more than most on this forum, but don’t like that fit for us as a first rounder.
His alot faster then Lipinski and has alot more tricks at his disposal.I deleted it from my comment above but I see him as a short Lipinski. I like Lipinski more than most on this forum, but don’t like that fit for us as a first rounder.
Has a little bit of Martin about when he plays in there so the ceiling is there for him to become a top line midfielder. Just have to figure out if he can play there full time, that is for the medicos to work out with V02 tests and the like I guessI tend to agree. I’m not a huge fan but we’ve been linked to him for a while and makes sense if our recruiters see him as having potential to be a genuine midfielder.
Without knowing much about any of them, I love the sound of Oliver. Exactly what we need, lock down small defender who can use the ball? Yes please, perfect Taylor Duryea replacement.Say we took Oliver with our first selection, does that mean we still go for Clarke with one of our next selections? Something like Oliver, Davidson/Clarke

Yeah the only thing really holding him back is his fitness. Could easily go earlier than our first if someone likes him. Has all the tools to be a very good player and has been doing it for the last couple of years so you know what you are going to get from him. It's interesting reading how highly rated Hynes is by some. We aren't mentioned, but it doesn't seem like they have any inside info on us. Seems Melbourne rate him as high as pick 9 according to the age article.
28. Cooper Hynes (Richmond)
This might be far too low for Hynes, who could go as high as Melbourne’s second pick, with West Coast and Port Adelaide among his admirers.
