FYI

Will add a 2024 NAB Draft & Trade tracker thread, stickied.

Tag me when we have a confirmed trade/draft and I will update the thread accordingly

Wait, the write ups on Hynes say he is explosive. But a few of you are saying he is slow/average. Which one is it??

Every team needs a 190cm, strong bodied and explosive mid. We don't have someone to be that post Bont. So I am okay with the pick. There really wasn't anyone appealing at pick 17 left anyway.

I found it interesting that he told Twomey, that he sees himself being more of a forward that ventures into the midfield, than primarily as midfielder.

Is having four players 190cm plus really the way to go? When we get killed by the lack of small players? Hopefully we drafted him with an eye on the midfield.
Move Naughton back and playing a mid sized forward alongside Jamarra and Darcy could work well.

Excuse me while I duck for cover after suggesting Naughton move back.

I've never experienced sleep deprivation or waterboarding, but I can't imagine they're worse than having to watch Ben Dixon's interviews.

Depends whether you think Gallagher, Garcia, west can transition into midfield time. I just think he’s similar to sanders and both aren’t blessed with leg speed and what we desperately need in that area.

We need young mids but burst speed and creativity are massive needs
Ed is only 25 and has speed to burn.
West is primary a pressure fwd, Garcia's body is only just now letting him have a decent crack, and Gallagher hasn't really shown much to be ahead of West or Garcia.

With our next to picks hopefully Sammy can address speed on the wing and down back.

Clearly. Point is, yes we need general leg speed. But explosive separation is also a good thing too.
A bloke who won't get bullied at the contest is certainly welcome too

Not a single poster on this board has questioned the kids ability in the slightest.

Posters have queried is he the right selection for our list needs.

Imagine coming on an opinion forum and having a respectful opinion only for the same people to lose their shit because someone’s opinion is different to theirs.

This place has become such a joke no wonder I barely venture here anymore

This is the question I cant get my head around as I take my first interest in the draft and look at his highlights and reviews.

Youse experts: Is he a Matt Kennedy analogue. Or am I missing the mark by more than the Charlie Clarke pick?

Kennedy is kinda the vibe I get from my very brief look at his highlights.

Go easy.

Can only hope we grab some Freijah level talented guys in that wing/half forward/small forward areas.

Our forward half smalls are in need of a massive upgrade

Hynes looks to have decent burst from the contest, he isn’t slow. Does anyone have his speed results? Interested to see.
We would be backing him to be that bull mid / forward hybrid in a couple of years once he builds his tank.

This is the busiest night for me as a mod for a long, long time. What the actual **** if going on with some on here? Be civil and respectful or expect a long holiday. I've had a gutfull of the childish abuse and tantrums on here.
