Sure but give us a name and don’t say Barass we tried he doesn’t want to come.

I don't need to provide an exact name, I just specified a key defender. They don't even need to be a big name, just someone who can at the very least be a backup to McCartin and Melican.

There would be a dozen players who fit the description.

There was no one available better than Francis and we certainly aren’t giving up our first two picks.

People seem to forget despite that horrid GF we were 13-3 looking great then the coach ridiculously changed the structure trying to fit players it (wasn’t needed). You can pin point where our form dipped badly.

I never suggested giving up one of our first rounders.

I think someone like DGB would have been a good call. Would get him for cheap and I think he is talented.

I think Corey is a mid/wing, possibly not good enough at that to warrant a spot beyond 2025, but was contracted before Jordon was brought in and can't just be shipped off.

Mitchell similar role, one year younger, but again may not be good enough.

If we could take Magor back, give him 1 year, play him as a medium forward, and delist Mitchell, I wouldn't cry. We might just be fairly light on in the middle in the VFL next year.

Also an advocate of picking up a mature aged inside mid, so that would also mean less of a need for Mitchell.
Mitchell played a fair bit inside in 18s and is a decent size. Corey is hard as 😺. Hope Macca gives both a decent run in the middle. They might be OK. UNLEASHED.

We could get him for zilch as a DFA. Why give up capital? Not against him that’s a different period

The timing is correct but I don't think the reason is.

If we go to the draft and end up with:

Pick 19 & 22: Hotton/Hynes/Davis/Whitlock/Faull

Pick 44 (Parker): Brew/Murphy/Kennedy

& Cochran match

i'll be happy
I think we will only take 3 picks, which is why we will try to trade up. Watch us slide back from 44 (40) as well For future second

It's kinda hilarious how there's a very good chance - not that GWS would ever confirm it - that their Wacky Wednesday debacle has just cost them a trade they were seemingly otherwise prepared to make.
I'm convinced this happened. They may have been 50/50 on him and this would have squashed it.

Realistically for me...

~22: Faull/Hynes
~25: Davis/M Whitlock (even Nicholls)
~40: Add Frost and Ryan to the mix and one of those yep (22 and 20yo inside mids at West Adelaide, Frost is a more solid unit)

Still think Oliver a chance at ~25 if we think he think he can play lockdown small defender.

Thought it was a bad signing looking at the forward line anyway- where was Cadman playing?

He’d probably have won an AA but who was it costing?
