Incredibly disappointing trade period. In my naivety, I assumed we were still in our premiership window and the club would seek to top up with a couple of mature agers to try to give us the best chance of breaking through next year. Other clubs do this all the time. Instead we got rid of a club champion for peanuts and brought no one in.

My optimism for next year has plummeted. It appears the club has simply accepted a premiership's not to be with the current group, which seems a bit weak to me. This lack of ambition makes me more angry than the GF did :(.

What do some think we should've done , i think some just want change so they can post ####.
It's done , move on and hope we pick well .
Remember we signed everyone and there is no room to move !
I would have preferred we do nothing and just have given Parker an extension than what we did.

Now, if we parlay Parker's salary into an extension for Chad, and that is the only way that was possible, then ok, but if that doesn't happen then why the hell did we do it?

It may have been a hastily written story on the Swans website, but interesting that Konstanty was not thanked for his service - while Parker was.

Keane also didn’t acknowledge a contribution from Konstanty in his albeit very brief remarks in his interview.

Usually they do have a perfunctory thank you. Maybe it will come… or maybe Konstanty burned his bridges.

What has Konstanty contributed to the club? Will be forever known as the bloke who broke Mills shoulder and was a part of the Parker trade. I guess they thank him for getting the trade over the line?

If you put things in reverse and we were trying to lure a 32 year old on a 3 year deal this board would have gone off about list management.

That’s why we let Parker go.

So next year I feel we're either top 4 contending again or another GF loss like that really deflates the team and they miss finals, players lose faith in Horse, Warner leaves.

Least he forced Horse into playing Heeney as a midfielder that’s a positive

The club does remarkably well in spite of Horse's best efforts to keep us losing

Unfortunately one of Horse’ issues is he’s very set in his ways with selection which comes back to drafting where we have one good small forward on our list in Paps. The 3 tall structure won’t work. It might work if you have a TDK ruck but generally it won’t.

Let’s see when Warner demands to go home and we get offered pick 17 or nothing next year and see how that looks.
Lets make him happy and maybe if we win the flag he can go home , your sounding like Damien Barrett
Nothing will be known for months , relax

As much as it hurts to say, we definitely needed Parker’s money off the books next year. It was our only shot of keeping Warner tbh.
Konstanty going considering he never truly got a shot hurts a lot and leaves even more holes in our list in terms of needs.
Now we really have to turn either Cleary or Hanily into a small forward full time next year as cover for Papley and or Wicks.

So do we do something with 58 for next year? Package 58 and 44 for something next year if we’ve maxed out our list numbers?

Does it really leave a hole if for 2025 Konstanty was going to be the 6th best small forward? I agree that we need better quality small forwards but don't think it really leaves a hole given he was arguably the worst small forward on the list

Unfortunately mate, I can’t get the GF out of my head.
I will watch this team next year but even when they are doing their finger twirling after a goal or Paps does his full of bravado bumping of unsuspecting players after a goal, my image of the team will always now be of the timid bunch of soft f k n c . cos that showed no fight on that day. Not once but twice.
Sorry until they win the flag this lot are tainted in my mind & heart until our team has turned this lot over for an untainted new lot.
They won’t see another GF this lot & nor should they.

I’m on with the playing group and don’t have an issue with not trading given what we did last year

The problem is obvious though, we’re not going to win anything with Longmire, he needs to go

I won’t be renewing my membership and probably won’t be attending anymore games while he keeps his job

He is slow to adjust, but he's far from set in his ways basing players off where they were drafted.

Heeney was a mid, as was Mills and Blakey when drafted. They've spent more time elsewhere.

3 talls is when we have played our best. He attributes it to why we collapsed to Collingwood in 2022, when Reid went down.

But Heeney has been carrying injuries for most of his career. Hard to play him in the middle when he's barely getting on the park

Mills playing more elsewhere is NOT a positive don’t get me started there was only when we moved him to the middle he had an AA year.

3 talls works with a mobile ruck who is good forward I say this with love Grundy is as good as me up forward (that ain’t a positive). He’s a fantastic around the ground ruck but an awful forward. So you are left with a side too tall and too slow. Get rid of one it’s actually not hard.

Our best games have been when one of the 3 have been out so we had to lower our eyes to our mediums anyway. Personally it’s Logan/Grundy (ruck) and one of Amartey/McLean. Add an extra medium in. Cleary and Hanily in for mine with Sheldrick in the middle as well

Yo do this though we need to draft at least one maybe 2 small forwards

Thats why we need a taller medium agile player. Zane Duursma would fit our system like a glove so thats why im looking at those 188-190cm agile medium forwards and Hynes and Davis are the two that flash up high on the boards

Pass on one of them for sure you know which one. We need a small forward more not a medium. Our smalls are Paps and then very little. Hanily I like but Horse hasn’t even tried the bloke, will our coach wake up and play Campbell there not convinced. Wicks is hardly the answer.
