Can anyone let me know what factors are contributing to Cody being a mid draft pick rather than a high draft pick? Seems motivated and has a mature body.

Disposal could use a clean up.

Also, having a mature body as an 18 year old isn't always counted as a positive. Many recruiters and clubs believe that it could be a sign that the player doesn't have much development left.

This was a knock on Jai Newcombe, even after his first full season.

I’m not sure how many times I’ve had to explain over the years to posters that writing “mods” in a post doesn’t mean we will see it. We don’t read every thread and we don’t search the word “mods”.

It’s like me writing mum and then complaining that she doesn’t respond.

Not having a go, but honestly if you want mods to do anything either report a post, tag us or send a PM.

A bit hesitant about losing a future first. I don't think it will be a simple straight swap , we will be asking for another pick coming back our way if we're to add pick 33.

That f1 we hold is the Carlton f1 and I am fairly confident it will end up a top 10 pick.
I would rather hold on to it unless we have an agreement with a 2025 free agent

Actually, quick question here. In 2025 we hold Carlton's F1 and someone else has our F1. Suppose someone left Hawthorn as a free agent and we got Band 1 compo. Would we get the compo pick behind the pick we hold, or our "natural" pick?

It would definitely be linked to our own "natural" pick.

It's not losing a first - it would still be using it to acquire a player.

The difference being, it would be a conscious decision (on the night) because the player we want is standing in front of us - far more deliberate than just walking into Draft Night with a handful of picks, without knowing who might be available.

He will cost 3 firsts at best and even with 2 years forward we will need a 2025 pick to get things started.

Your kidding me mate u r going to hold on for a pipe dream instead of doing what's in the best interest of the club? This notion of Harley Reid coming to hawthorn shouldn't stop us from doing what we need to do at present. It wont

Then we're talking a huge price in a trade and almost certainly wont be done on draft picks alone, they'll want Day and Dear too.

The cheapest ways to bring talent in will be draft and Free Agents. We learnt the hardware giving up good young players and multiple draft picks for established players doesn't always improve the list.

Clubs will be selling first born farms to get him. Will be a sh!t fight.
He would have to be very keen to get to us and even then player/pick swaps would be a blood bath.
