Clayton, Stengle and Baz walked into a bar in Geelong......guess the rest.

He’s probably the opposite to an x-factor player but man you know what you’re going to get when you pick him. Super consistent and rarely makes a mistake, very glad we are keeping him

He's a great clubman and absolute professional.

When he was dropped, just consistently pumped out excellent games at Box Hill. He's good for standards and plays his role bloody well.

He played very well and composed in the Port game when we needed someone with a cool head. Especially when we were coming in the last. Not surprised the club rewards him.

Feel like Geelong is testing the concept of the Ship of Theseus

In the need to replace their ageing champions, many of which are just genuinely good blokes - with a constant supply of players with questionable attitudes - do they eventually hit a tipping point, where their culture just sinks.

Scott seems to be amazing at bringing players back to their best and focusing them, but just like in any workplace, if you pollute the pool enough, it just becomes a swamp.

Adding Clarry and Baz, with clear question marks on their approach to certain things, just feels like it tips the weights even further.
I think the thing that is slowly happening at Geelong is all of the leadership is slowly leaving. Selwood gone, now Hawkins, Danger cannot be far away, then Blicavs and Duncan, even Stewart and Cameron are 32 before next season starts.

Geelong not only need to replace them as players, they also need to replace the leadership. Leadership is where the real challenge is.

I still think this is one of the main reasons Petracca is so pissd off. Petracca is working his butt off and Oliver is taking the piss.

And the truth is Melbourne do not need him. They cannot accomodate all of Petracca, Oliver and Viney in the same midfield. It is too slow and none of them can kick.

It's on Saturday and FA opens 9AM friday, so he will officially be a Hawthorn player by then.

We should bring him up and present him his 3rd place at StKilda award. Thank him for his dedication undertaking his apprenticeship at Stkilda and congratulate him on graduating to a real club.

Just for a good measure, we can also prep a mini banner with ‘welcome to the family club, Josh!’ that he can run through with his family :)

I’m in a conundrum with a family member (distant) that follows Saints. To him, Battle is “just a go-er, nothing special” in one sentence whilst “he’s worth a first round compensation pick” in the next sentence. Can both be true? Is it a Schrodinger’s Saint scenario?
Third in their B&F - if he is just a "goer" Saints are screwed

And then there’s the ongoing thread about the bummers, which is even more excruciating…
It’s quite literally a thread about a side that got caught doping. Don’t want to read it, don’t go in it.

This thread is about Hawthorns trade plans, and instead there was 6+ pages added today, with 80% of the posts about Geelong.

Far too many posts in here about Geelong today… who gives a **** of they sign a couple of blokes with dependency issues.
Not our problem.
Probs not the thread for it - agreed.

But them rebuilding their midfield overnight (for bugger all) is actually a pretty big problem.
