Great move!

The last two teams that won the premiership took their chances: Stengle & Bobby Hill

We are taking our chances on an injury prone player at low costs. Rewards vs risks!

He will have plenty of crumbing chances with H & CC.

Papley - WHO :p

BTW - Draft wise, now we can concentrate on best available

Not having a melt. Just don't like him. Nothing good out of * since Harry or maybe Manton
Anyone who wants out of * has at least half a brain. Has potential.

Don’t think the move of a perennially injured journeyman stacks up against those 2 youthful talents.

As others have said, more Alex Fasolo vibes.

Glass half empty VS half full - your choice!

Unfortunately will miss the start of pre-season after suffering a paper cut whilst signing the contract.

:p
I'll settle for anything, as long as it's not getting RSI from autographing books.

The earth is slow, but the coach is senile...

Hopefully a Linc McCarthy type pick-up, as opposed to a Fasolo.

I'm a big fan personally. We're in a position now where even if he never plays a game, we're not that bad off. But if he comes on, oh boy our forward line is screaming for a player like him.
Linc McCarthy also arrived with a (dual) Brownlow Medallist to be…

Apologies for jumping into another teams thread but

I'm guessing you guys haven't paid a huge amount for him, if he works out then fists in the air, if he only gets a eight game stretch near finals...

Fantasia is a very good player, injuries have held him back but uninjured, at his best ( and no disrespect) I'd have him as a better small forward than what you have and for what is a free shot it is madness not to take him on.

My initial reaction to Fantasia was.... why?

I've thought about it since and i'm still pretty much there, but also asking why for 2 years?

He is (or was) a skilful player no doubt, but he just cannot get on the paddock. You have to go back 7 years to his best season of 39 goals. I dunno if potentially stifling the development of Motlop specifically is going to be worth seeing if he can relight the match.

My view on him is that he's flashy, selfish and pretty weak defensively. Looks like a bloke that doesn't work hard in the gym from a physical POV either. I'd have rather kept Fisher, but here we are.

Pretty obvious I'm not thrilled, but nobody would be happier to be proven wrong then me. Hail mary attempt from the club...

isn't any more injured than durdin. can see him slotting into the whipping boy position, we'll see. could also be a reverse jarrad waite.

Mitchell, Lewis - at the stage they were at, no.
Hodge would, the problem is in finding someone comparable to one of the better leaders in recent memory.
I’d say Mitchell or Lewis would be perfect right now for the ruthless mentality/winning leadership and to fill the recently vacated midfield depth. Two birds one stone.

As for hodge, one of if not the best captain of all time, yeah.. tough. Anyways, back to reality.

The 2 years is the price.

He wasn't coming for 1, which Port and the Giants offered.

But if it's 2 years on a standard AFL wage, and he gets a his body right...

Russell has now gotten Cuningham, Curnow, Marchbank, Martin, McGovern, Docherty and Walsh back from fairly substantial injuries and playing consistently.
