Has had a full medical so obviously we believe we can get him fit.

Has real ability and Voss knows him well. At his best has goalkicking ability and genuine leg speed. It’s a risk but one that could really pay off. I like it as we need what he has. Adding him & Hollands gives us depth and competition for spots

Now looks likely we go to pre season with a full list

When you see us adding Williams Hollands Fantasia to our best 22 we have really improved our run and leg speed

He effectively replaces Philp on the list. Philp never stayed fit enough to show us what he might do at the top level.

Fantasia, when fit, has shown he is an AFL level small forward.

My mate knows Philp's parents quite well and dad was optimistic that Sam would get to train over summer with a view to being picked up in the SSP draft. It appears that we have gone down the Fantasia route instead.

Hope Philpy still gets to train with us &/or VFL team for assessment towards the MSD.

We’re certainly keeping things close to our chest these days. Not sure anyone/many had an inkling on Fantasia..

With EHollands and OF added to our 2024 list, Williams raring to go, Binns looking fit and training early, pressure is on.

Add a good kid or 2 and the pressure gauge at the Blues will be sky high.

Very happy with our recruiting while also having an eye on our future.

Yep. 2 Irishman, Cowan, a fit Durdin and all looks good.

All about injuries now. Depth and competition for spots is what will make us better

Who is the recruit from Only Fans….?

No we take 3 in the draft now
No we don’t. We must promote one rookie to right the ledger.

This signing amazes me, but clearly we have identified an area of improvement (as most of us suspected).

Odds firming for mine that one if our picks will still be a forward/mid prospect to potentially improve the mix beyond Fantasia.

I was calculating for rookie upgrades over the next couple of years to meet list requirements next year. Looking like the single year contract forward types in Fogarty and Cuningham are up against it, along with OOC next year Owies and Durdin.

Clear message for mine.

Great pickup…

if Russell can weave his magic and get him consistently on the park, we will have found a gem, for bugger all outlay…

At his best he’s the crumbing pressure forward that we all hope Motlop will become…

Motlop and Orazio at the feet of Harry and Charlie is going to be dynamic, good luck opposition defenders…

Old Orazio was 240 volt electric, still be happy with a lithium battery version.

It's the 2 year contract for another injury plagued fringe player that concerns me. List spots are now at a premium, we'll be discarding some good players in the next few years to comply with rules.

2 years is too much? Really? Puts pressure on others to perform, good list management

When a player is almost on the scrap heap due to continual injuries, no need to lure or add years to a contract when he is the one under assessment for his durability to be a regular playing AFL footballer, not others on the list.

I’d assume pressure is on all the others to perform to get a berth in the team regardless, 2yrs only serves to lockout a list spot for Orazio’s position in the squad. 1yr with triggers but 2yrs is hindering list management IMO.

Fantasia can give us that X factor we need up forward.
We have Charlie & McKay but we lack genuine X factor options. Motlop can become one but is young. Durdin possible but nowhere near proven.
For all the good work of Fogarty Cottrell Cuningham Owies did this year they don’t scare an opposition. Silvagni is a worker as is Martin
We need more players that worry a defence and Fantasia & Hollands add that

I hope now we add a genuine young gun mid via the draft. If we can upgrade our picks it wouldn’t surprise me to go to draft with one pick and leave a spot free for pre season

Whatever happens I love what Austin & Co are doing. Seems organised and well thought out

Wouldn’t have come otherwise. Won’t be on much money and we are in a good spot Salary Cap wise. No issue for me

Can anyone give a summary of Fantasia's last 2 seasons at Port? How much of his time was out due to injury and did he spend much time in the 2s, was he just not performing to get a spot back in the 1s?

We don’t need to promote if we wish to select 3 at ND but we have the option to promote a rookie if we feel better inclined to roll with less ND picks (2), add a rookie, trial a SSP or save one over until the MSD (think those days should be over with, as unfort there’s usually a candidate for the Inactive List on most lists by round 11).

He was eyeing off a return to Melbourne mid-season. Essendon rebuked. It was either that or Sydney (GWS as a rookie), so moving shouldn’t have been a deal breaker, in fact prob a deal maker of MEL over SYD.

Played 4 games in two years because of Quad issues. Was actually fit and ready to play late last season.

If he does sign with us he will be ready to go from Day One. I am sure Russell will build him up to limit more injuries

If reports are right Port & GWS offered him one year deals for next year.

Two years isn’t a big deal. It depends on the money. He may have triggers for a second year? It may be a base but bonuses?

I trust what Austin is doing. Been good so far
