I didn’t mind the idea of the Ryan acquisition originally but after seeing him in that Hawks game this year he seemed a mile off it, although admittedly it was a small sample size.

The review of his performances in the ressies though didn’t sound that flash, so it would be some jump from going to being so-so in the reserves to leading the premiers’ forward line over an offseason.

Might be a project for the summer. He’s on the list and the thinking must have been to draft him for depth. Why not give him a shot. Food for thought.

Pretty average 3KZ.

I saw most games and still don't know what we saw him. IMO, only an average VFA player.

In all seriousness, would we look to list assitant coach Daniel LLoyd a rookie or is he too much of a medium tall which we're stacked with?

Ok - thanks. Might be Smith or Gardiner then? I think we need a forward who will at least draw a tall defender.

Just listened to the Daly interview. The vibe I got from his responses is we had a fair idea this has been coming for a while, and as such planned accordingly. Wouldn’t totally shock me if we have someone lined up already. Whether that’s through a trade or a DFA who knows.

For many the journey is complete. For others it’s just begun. We can’t begrudge people for taking bigger pay and promotions. They’ve earned them and they’ve helped build our club up along the way. We’re in a good space and with a good list so we just need to fill vacant roles with good quality people and trust them.

Tiger Tom Lynch has continued to be linked as a trade target with one year to run on his contract but has pledged his future to Richmond, while the likes of Tim Membrey, Sam Day, Matt Taberner, Levi Casboult, Josh Schache and Matt Allison are among the tall forwards to have been either delisted or be without contracts for next year at their clubs.
Adelaide's Lachie Gollant, who had interest from North Melbourne last year, remains unsigned, while Bomber Sam Weideman, Magpie Nathan Kreuger and Saint Jack Hayes are also without deals.

If we don't want to pick from the recycled bin, this is my preferred option. Henry Smith will be ready next year as a primary ruck. Move Oscar to FF and play out of goal square.

We also have Luke Lloyd as another lead up forward, in which case Hipwood has to play the role of Daniher - split between ruck + lead up forward. Hipwood might be ready for it too.

Membrey isn't a terrible idea but to me he's just McMorris but older. Need a big goober to contest up the line and relief ruck most of all I think.

Hppe you dont mind the intrusion, I like this the trade/draft atmosphere this time of year. As the reigning premier, I don't think you'd have much trouble convincing anyone to move up for a year on peanuts. You probably need one experienced campaigner (Membrey/Day/Casboult type) and a youngish guy who might still have something to grow with (Kreuger/Gollant/Weideman). They'd be cheap, break glass types as I think you'll mostly just restructure with what you have for 2025 and then look to attack market for 2026. Getting a combined 15 games out of these guys would be a win.
