Any chance Pitto takes marking lessons over the off season..

For a tall player that should be one of his points of difference or advantage over at the non talls at the very least.

Can you take marking lessons?

Is he not fanning his fingers out to create a bowl for the ball to drop in?

Not cushioning the drop of the ball?

I remember when we traded him in..
A comment on the Hawks board at the time still sticks with me. ‘He has the smallest hands for a ruck I’ve ever seen and drops every mark’.

Love to know what happened with his development (or lack there of)

Was massive talk of him at the time of the draft…recall many in this board having him pegged at our pick…..
Played with Trent. Injured most of last year. Was close mid year then tweaked ankle. Played out of position a bit

Right, and why is that?

Could do way worse than pick up a ruck that is definite AFL calibre for nothing - would be better than Pitto if he were fit too. He belted Kreuzer in the ruck in 2019.
Because he's rarely available. He's a year older than Pittonet, who has availability issues of his own & played significantly less football.
If we're looking for a ruck, it needs to be someone that will be available when called upon.

IMO - He's worse than Lochie O'Brien, who is lining up in the O&M GF this weekend.
He can run fast, that's about it.
Speaking of blokes who could run fast and that's about it, I remember a very old school work colleague of mine in the 90s commenting about Frank Marchesani, he said "Blokes like Marchesani are the reason we have fences around grounds".
One of the funniest footy comments I think I've ever heard.

To be fair. Motlop's year started round 19 due to a long term injury. Even then he wasn't near ready for senior footy. Could see that in the VFL.
Agree, both these guys played under done and neither should have been selected for the EF or Durdin v St Kilda after he popped his shoulder v WC

You don't have any concerns based on Jones being delisted by West coast who have a terrible list?

He's now been delisted by a club with a good list and culture (Cats) and a really poor list (Eagles).

Sometimes junk has been left at the tip because it's not of any use any more.
I'd have concerns over any player delisted by WCE, but I also know as a Carlton supporter that when your club is an absolute dumpster fire for a prolonged period of time, players talent and confidence can be sapped out of them which results in them under performing or looking worse than they are.

Petruccelle and Jones have shown they can play some very good footy when their teams were up and about and they were playing with confidence. Both have looked pretty shite lately but that doesn't mean that's their limitations as players if plugged into a better system with better standards they need to meet.

Geelong has basically made it a hobby of taking under performing players from other clubs and getting the best out of them.

I'm not sure who Geelong have got that was underperforming? Kids still finding their way I understand but underperforming?
