Bolton would be a great pickup but would cost too much.
I agree. If Cameron is really on the outer, and he's keen to come to Freo, he's the one to go after because he will come considerably cheaper than Bolton. Sure, Charlie has less of his playing days left but it could bridge the gap until Simpson or Delean are ready. And the rest go into chasing Warner, either this year, or roll them into next year.

Which is why if Chad Warner wanted to come home to play with his mates from juniors in Clark, Sharp and Jackson I would be all in at the trade table.

Bolton is way too hot and cold to be spending that much on him. Too many games where he totally disappears.

Warner is much more consistent.

I want Warner way before Bolton, but you are being harsh on Bolton. He plays way more forward and runs through the midfield way less than Warner. Show me a small forward in the comp who doesn’t have huge fluctuations in performance. It’s not called starvation corner for no reason.

and if he and Baker and all their other champions were so amazing, they wouldn't be?
That’s silly logic. Like saying, If we were so amazing we wouldnt have finished bottom 5 last year?
See- Equally silly.

It’s an equalised competition with a salary cap that distributes talent evenly across all 18 teams. Every single team has individual good players.

Yes most of FreoGirls post are silly but your second paragraph is equally “silly”.
In no way is the competition equalised.
Travel, Academy differences, AFL payment inequality and fixtures for TV, all mean that the AFL is far from equalised.

What you could say is there are strategies in place that make staying in contention for years on end very difficult. That you're sailing into the breeze and it takes luck and/or exceptional circumstances to sustain yourself in the top bracket of clubs beyond say five years.

It doesn't mean, however, you're totally devoid of any talent if you aren't in the top bracket of clubs.
