Hate to be pedantic but it more works the other way

Reid says to Ogilvie - I need you to find me a development ruck (18 / 19 yo)

Obvs Reid hasn’t done that , the other option is Reid says to guys that look at mature age recruits - go scout a ruck at another club and see who we got which is Obvs what happened with Moyle

If we want to talk about Ogilvies errors I got plenty of those but that’s for another discussion

Just to be a bit more pedantic, Reid doesn't make that call, it's a list management committee call. They've obviously decided that ROB and backup plus forward ruck depth has been enough. We also need to take into account our desire to perform in the SANFL, a developing ruck unbalances the 22.

Yes I'd have drafted a development ruck with a mid/late/rookie pick at some point the last 3 or 4 years but going on and on and on and on about it on Big Footy isn't going to make one iota of difference.
You will never win the internet if you refuse to go on and on and on and on about any and every little thing.

For year after year after year after year after year………………….

Happy for Keays, great clubman that deserves the award

Well done Daws, too. Cool to see a tie
Keays, equal Club Champion with Dawson, no mean feat.
Also Members MVP and Dr. Brian Sando awardee, "being recognised for his professionalism and preparation to play at the highest level".
Thooughly deserved and Keays is a man/player vital to our best-22 now.

Any remarks from all of the Keays detractors?

I think the result reflects where our season ended up TBH. I love Keays' work ethic and his capacity to get to contests, etc. but his decision making is questionable as is his disposal. If he was good at both of those aspects he would've won the B&F by a street. It more highlights the drop off from others when compared to the previous year IMO. That said, Keays was one of the few who improved in 2024 and the recognition was well justified.

Bloke kicked 30+ goals as a hard-working forward in an average side. Was rated well above average for his position league wide.

He had a brilliant year by any measure, not just our clubs measure.

I thought his season was that good he should have been selected in the AA squad and picked on the bench in the final team

But we all know the AA team is about loading up with mids

Given we didn't have anyone make the squad of 40 for AA, sort of suggests our season - although I feel he'd have been one of the closer ones to make it.

For us to make finals, we'd need more individuals to stand up which might see him fall off a little however he was fantastic in his role this season. Feel he's become smarter with ball in hand in knowing his own limitations - surprises me some of the goals he does nail but he's more willing to move it on for a higher percentage shot which I don't think we saw from him earlier on.

going to player devils advocate here and congratulations to Ben but do we think Ben would have finished this high if we finished higher on the ladder?

Top 5 probably, seeing Ben was hot for 10 weeks, but finishing higher on the ladder does mean Rankine and Thilthorpe play more games.
