Yeah that's the problem.

I'm not smart enough to work out BE's but I suspect if Bont goes sub 100 2 or 3 times early in the year he'll be low $600k's. That's not impossible.

He dropped from $725k to $650k last year with the below run. And the magic number is higher in the early rounds. If you start him he's got to go 130+ to retain his price and make it hard/impossible for others to get him.

last year he started at $639.5k - only had one score under 100 which was an 89 in Rd 3 - low price was $610.5k after rd 4 then after rd 8 he was $725.2k and didn't drop below $650k after that.

magic number dropping off over the first half of the season means most high price players will be cheaper at some stage.

I think if your mindset is to skip round 0 Ubers and chase ruck value Bont just keeps ending up at M1, for me anyway.

Yes, that price isn't quite so bad when you factor in he plays an extra game compared to Oliver, Petracca, etc.

Daicos is the only one I'm seriously considering of the R0 ubers.

This stupid ****ing round of games before Rd 1 proper with like 4 games (and those 8 clubs get a bye to have a well-deserved breather in Rd 2/3/5/6) , whatever that is called.
Am assuming that short people will be shot out of cannons, Fev will sing All the Single Ladies in a saucy little pink dress and Fyfedog will accept a rhinestone studded codpiece from Rompingwins to commemorate the Flyers ' AFLX dynasty that was snatched away so cruelly.
Somebody who knows their clacker from their elbow can confirm, but whatever that steaming pile of shit is called, that is what I mean haha.
Scores don't count for overalll but do roll into the rolling average, the premos all give you guaranteed one game less during the season proper etc., big yikes territory tbh.

Same price. 10 points difference will take 10 rounds to cover the early bye. And you’re likely to end up with both after that time anyway.

It's hard to justify. Green will miss 2 games before Serong misses his 1st one. Hypothetically, if Serong averages 110 across his first 12 games he will score 1320 points. Assuming the rookie that replaces Green scores 60 in the 2 games he misses, Green will need to average 120 across his 10 games for that decision to break even (120 x 10) + (60 x 2) = 1320 points.

So you are banking on Green outscoring Serong by 10 points per game across the first 12 games of the season to be level at that point. Could easily happen but the odds would be against it.

Now you could make an argument that this isn't factoring in the rest of the season, however, Serong's bye won't cost much given its a 2 team bye mid way through the season. You probably get a 80-90 from whichever player replaces him at that point as you will have already started upgrading your team. As for games after that, well you can just grab Green after his bye making any difference in their averages post bye obsolete. His starting price is already 630k so its unlikely he won't be available for something close to that, meaning you won't get a heap of reward for starting him.
