Do Collingwood challenge the Schultz punch for insufficient force? Say it wasn't meant for the head and slipped up?

AFL have kind of set a precedent letting Hogan off for his hit on Young
Glad he didn't challenge - terrible look and certainly lowered my thoughts on him as a player.

I’m obviously much softer than you but that tackle had a very high degree of potential to cause severe head/neck injury because he upended Owies and forcibly thrust him toward the ground.

In my mind definitely worth a free and because it was the thug Maynard who has a history of trying to inflict injury I would have given him ooohh let’s say 6 weeks!!!!!!!

I’d agree, but Owies definitely contributed to it. Which is what I said initially.

Owies was running onto the ball and got tackled by Maynard. He had scooped up the ball and was off balance. The duty of care in that situation was with the tackler. It was a dangerous tackle. I called it as soon as it happened. However, I'm not surprised that Christian didn't bother to look harder at it.

Former Collingwood player Christian?

Of course it's got nothing to do with the navy blue coloured glasses we all wear...

I don't think we fair that badly at all. Which is good, I don't believe we've got a single dirty player in our squad (like a Pickett/Greene etc).

Not to mention, I think we've done really well out of the tribunal over the years. Cripps winning the Brownlow was pretty good testament to that.

The opposite actually.
It was a total stitch-up at the tribunal.

We had to go to the appeals board, and they rightly threw it out.
Sorry, yes.

Although the Cripps one should've been a suspension by basically every metric. We've got one hell of a lawyer.

Yeah ok, we view that incident very differently. Left his feet and knocked a guy out.

Anyway, that was years ago and not overly relevant to this thread. I'll leave it at that.
He played the ball, and another player hit his head on the ground.

People have weird memories of the incident, and the tribunal and appeal, because it was generally very poorly covered in the media. It's pretty clear, though:

MRO (Christian) has sighted us plenty, sometimes for things that other players don’t get looked at.

The fact we have had numerous charges dropped or dismissed by the tribunal and our track record is good testifies to his bias!!

Yeah, it's all one big conspiracy against us that no one else has picked up on :eyes:

It can be both be true that there is bias by Christian and we also have Navy Blue glasses on!!!

They are not mutually exclusive.

The conspiracy would be suggesting that Christian is being directed by the AFL to target a particular team for more suspensions, and that, my friend, is where Richmond supporters step in!!!!!

The Curnow brothers getting cited in the same match for umpire contact. Then Christian had to cite Tom Hawkins for umpire contact because if he let it go, we’d have sued the AFL. Since then they’ve just been finding players for umpire contact.

The system is a flawed one but there's a tendency to forget when our players aren't rubbed out & remember when they are..
IMO there's no real basis for the conspiratorial reasoning.

IIRC Cripps' suspension was overturned due to the initial finding being that he'd bumped Ah-Chee, the appeal found that he did not.

I imagine the players would be writing the cheques already.

Seriously that Cowan hit was a bit late but in no way constitutes a reportable offence.

He pulled the contact and basically got NealBullen on both forearms out in front of his body.

The fact he collapsed like he been shot with a sawn off shotgun should be a report for staging.

Geez the more I watch those dees players the more dislike I feel.
