“Strengthened our 2025 draft hand…”
Agree, also we've got Steene, Smit and potentially Condon for that role, we need a leading/mobile key forward, ideally good to great below their knees and who can compete and pressure both when the ball is in the air and on the ground.Agree. I'd prefer a well built 194-196cm kf who can stand his ground & take a mark in a contest than one of those scrawny stick figure 200cm forwards who constantly get pushed over in a marking contest.
Yes he was, but the narrative that we only drafted Jason to get Travis is complete bullshit. The club was heavily into Jason well before Travis played competitive football!!!
Yep, and they're all getting the opportunity to learn from & compete against 3 beasts in Checkers, McStay & Membrey.Agree, also we've got Steene, Smit and potentially Condon for that role, we need a leading/mobile key forward, ideally good to great below their knees and who can compete and pressure both when the ball is in the air and on the ground.
Your quite right, but that myth was definitely a widespread narrative at the time (obvs from mug punters like me, not from the club). I think Jason was an excellent defender but when we took him the "whisper" was the little bro (Cam) was better and Trav the littlest was going to be a star.Maybe next time lead with that.
Something like and on a similar but different note remember that rumour about Jason, Cam being selected to get Travis....biggest myth in footy.
Rather then to a post about Travis being more highly rated then the pick 37 we took him with...
Yes in the 1980’s when Plugger, Dunstall and Ablett were that size. The only one these days is Curnow who is successful at that height. If you haven’t been watching. 200cm + is a key and Curnow size is a mid.You seem obsessed by size. 194-196cm is perfectly fine size for a key forward
Jesse Hogan & Jake Waterman say hi.Yes in the 1980’s when Plugger, Dunstall and Ablett were that size. The only one these days is Curnow who is successful at that height. If you haven’t been watching. 200cm + is a key and Curnow size is a mid.

Now I’m really pumped.Hine can only pick good small forwards late in the draft, so I expect Cochrane and West to be delisted in a few years and Hayes to become solid player before he's traded to West Coast.
Rubbish.Yes in the 1980’s when Plugger, Dunstall and Ablett were that size. The only one these days is Curnow who is successful at that height. If you haven’t been watching. 200cm + is a key and Curnow size is a mid.
Curnow, Cameron and hogan go alright. Far from giants. At our pick range not as if we were spoilt for choiceYes in the 1980’s when Plugger, Dunstall and Ablett were that size. Don't rate Mihocek (192cm)? Tex Walker (194cm)?Yes in the 1980’s when Plugger, Dunstall and Ablett were that size. The only one these days is Curnow who is successful at that height. If you haven’t been watching. 200cm + is a key and Curnow size is a mid.
I only posted about the drafting the other brothers to get Trav. That rumour came out when we took Cameron and could very well be true for Cameron. Jason was drafted off the back of a strong underage carnival and was a very worthy draftee. Absolutely no talk of Travis at the time. Jason has been added to the rumour since.Mate, Travis was not 10 at the time of Jason's first year when the club first recruited him.
He was 13 and was being tracked by not only afl club land but also track watchers.
I never mentioned that old rumour in the post you are referencing.
your response was as such you agreed with Eddie which obviously is at odds with what I wrote....
Walker, Riewoldt. Walter is much hyped at the same size.Yes in the 1980’s when Plugger, Dunstall and Ablett were that size. The only one these days is Curnow who is successful at that height. If you haven’t been watching. 200cm + is a key and Curnow size is a mid.
