In response to the above comment, we do not know what Dekka and Leppa had planned with the pick swap. For all we know they already have something organised.

Yeah, there are cases where it happens. Thats why I said generally - Of course there are some cases it can happen depending on the player and situation. David Noble had a connection to Greenwood I think and they felt they could use his experience. So if it makes sense depending on the club, its been known to happen from time to time.
Probably should happen more often than it does. But clubs are too soft when it comes to not poaching players that other clubs delist to rookie.
I don't think there's a gentleman's agreement - I just think it's really rare that a club delists to re-rookie someone that another club is keen on.

Either way more picks before ours will be eaten up in bids. Just need north to bid on ashcrost and saints to bid on kako and lombard .Clear out all the mid round picks ear marked for bid matching.

I trust Twomey when he says Ashcroft will last until Melbournes pick, unfortunately. I remember him nailing Daicos lasting until 4 when it seemed hard to believe.

The only thing I don't like about the saints and bombers deal is if they did an under the table hand shake where saints don't bid on kako. Maybe I am making too much of it, but one can't help but wonder if there is some truth to that.

I am going to refrain from interaction with the person I accidentally offended. Some other board users have advised me that I am welcome to continue participating.
Don't worry about it, lets move on. I was sick over the weekend, I may have been over sensitive.

This is not going to plan

Yeah Brisbane not looking good - they'll have enough points. Essendon's play is an interesting one and not looking good for us. I thought they'd trade the early one's out, but they might be trying to match and then be left with picks in the 30s. We might be left trying to trade a pick into the future.

First we shouldn't assume that we know what the actual plan was with the pick swap. Second, if the plan did involve Brisbane and that's fallen through we can just trade one of our picks into next year to begin banking points for McGuane. Not the end of the world.
Exactly can still trade with someone else for either this year or next

The AFL monitors all discussions apparently (reported during trade period) so that doesn’t happen.
