I am flabbergasted at the fact that an under 18 AA couldn't even get a rookie spot.
To get that honour in a deep draft pool is no ordinary thing.Unless the clubs just don't put too much weight into AA selections.

Only if they are out for the entire year.
You can put them on it, but you can only put them back on the list if you have another season ending injury.

Its just become a tool to rort the system. Delist and then re-list for a salary cap saving or to create fake list vacancies to take more academy points into the draft.

Yes him and Cole can be considered hard luck stories, Clubland don't value ruckman and it seems fullbacks even less!

I only posted about the drafting the other brothers to get Trav. That rumour came out when we took Cameron and could very well be true for Cameron. Jason was drafted off the back of a strong underage carnival and was a very worthy draftee. Absolutely no talk of Travis at the time. Jason has been added to the rumour since.

Not my recollection of it when the talk around travis started not the rumour bit.

Travis was being built up from 13/14. We only drafted him 4 years later @ 17 yo.

i agree that Jason earned his spot but I never said otherwise...Which is kinda my point.

Yes in the 1980’s when Plugger, Dunstall and Ablett were that size. The only one these days is Curnow who is successful at that height. If you haven’t been watching. 200cm + is a key and Curnow size is a mid.

There are more then a few over the last decade but you left this guy off for Curnow.

Yep. Majority of the successful key forwards are around this height.

The 200+cm King brother types are the most average looking, imo.

He does also lack aerobically as his repeat efforts are lacking at times.

But has the talent to be a game winner. Hope he does well.

Given the expectations for next year, think the club wants as many experienced players as possible. That is the only reason I can think off as to why we would keep AJ and markov for another year over a young draftee.
