Neither. Love Langford but he's not quite pick 2 talent, lack of speed and ball use an issue for me.
Armstrong we'd only take at 2 if Dees are a chance at 5. Otherwise we could slide to 6 and get him and another 1st.
If we stay at pick 2, right now it's Smith, FOS?, Draper or Smillie. FOS and Lalor form and injuries aren't helpful though.

Geez, when the describe the previous incidents as brain injuries it sounds so much worse than a few concussions.

You’d hope there would be adequate testing done prior to him drafted if he is already having issues with concussion.

My preference for us is that if Langford shows any signs of improvement at the combine I would not hesitate to take him. We are so desperate for a bit of campaigner - it’s pretty much our biggest weakness.

I've been going back through the thread reading up on Langford. Apparently we're keen on him. I guess this description fits with Viney wanting competitors.

- FOS dropping to 5. Just can't have him ahead of those who's output this season is undeniable. Do I still think he has a stack of upside and would be perfect for us at 2? Absolutely, but I simply can't look past the form of the 4 above him.

- Jobe Shanahan, Murphy Reid, Alix Tauru, Alex Dodson and Cooper Hynes improve their positioning in the top 30

- Jesse Dattoli, Josh Murphy and Harry Oliver all improve their standings just outside the top 30.

Thanks for sharing this great rundown. If North could produce a Lalor and Gerreyn draft haul, I'd be wrapped. Lalor looks so solid and while others will likely disagree, I get a De Goey around the centre contest vibe from his highlights, in terms of power and impact. The Hawkins comparison I read somewhere re Gerreyn is just very hard to look past - a big contested marker imposing himself on the contest seems a perfect addition to complement Larkey and Comben. Not sure how we swing it though.

If we're unable to split (my personal preference), we kind of have to take him (as he's really good) - if players from SA want to feel the pressure of playing for the frankly terrible Pauer or the underperforming Crows, then so be it, we just have to take 1st and 2nd rounders in both years and be strong on it, give them our 3rd and 4th's back if it helps, but I think we're in a better place now than we were in 2022 and should have the balls to pick him if we can't get an adequate split.

From my understanding Draper is mature as they come and will happily go anywhere in the country. West Coast have put a lot of work into him and I’m tipping if he doesn’t go to us or Richmond and WC still have pick 3 then he’ll be in eagles colours next year.

Lalor looks so solid and while others will likely disagree, I get a De Goey around the centre contest vibe from his highlights, in terms of power and impact. A Lalor/Gerreyn combo would be appealing.

The only thing that concerns me with Lalor is these niggly hip/lower back issues he has had across his junior career. along with a few minor soft tissue injuries. Ive been told the hip/lower back stuff stems from his cricket (he is a really talented cricketer too). Just hope he can withstand the rigours of AFL footy. In saying that, the same can be said for Finn O’Sullivan who seems to pick up niggles every 2nd or 3rd week.

I think it is different if there is a substantial difference between the SA kid and the next best Victorian, but given the top end are hard to split, why would you take the risk?
