Fair enough

I think his hands at ground level combined with his elite speed and agility is game breaking.

Also think he would instantly be our best pressure mid. Goal kicking I agree would be handy, in that case FOS is your man
Watching FOS highlights to me it's like watching Stevie J reincarnated, I can see why we would be into him.
If he is gone before our pick, who knows who we will get, Draper has got some good traits so maybe it could be him.👍

Good comparison. Bit smaller but apparently his brothers grew out to 6ft2 so who knows

Any thoughts on who is the better KPD possibly available around pick 38?
I would be happy with any of Barrat, O'Farrell, Mraz or Dennis.

All players in that range have their strengths/weaknesses, the onus is on the club to develop them into a solid AFL KPD.
Would say it’s likely but I’d say Draper is the better fit for us
What makes you say that?

Pressure, speed. I’d say Draper has very good ball winning ability, not the same as Jagga but good. Averaged 22 against men while being underdone. Would love a good athlete. Both seem good leaders

Agree, my concerns are Sid’s poise and delivery by hand and foot once he’s won the ball, can be average at times. In Austin we trust, let’s hope we have some luck pick 3 , as it’s has not been an auspicious position for the club in the past.
We’ve just got to get it right, no room for failures.

If Lalor and FOS go #1 and #2 on draft nite, you wonder whether there's a possibility the Cows may come a knockin' looking for a pick swap if they're nervous we'll take Draper. Chances are they've already got contingency plans in place - but if they have their minds set on him, they could potentially throw us a few crumbs for a pick swap - something like a f3 coming our way.

Dodoro of course gifted the Cats an early 2nd round pick last year just to move up one place in order to get Caddy - so it's not unprecedented.

Having said that, if we were planning on selecting Draper, we'd tell them thanks but no thanks.

Crows wont come for Draper. They will hope we take him

If they believe Ben Campo is worth their pick at 32 then they’ll absolutely bid, ensuring fair price is paid

They’ll probably be the ones to bid on Kako as well for Essendon unless Melbourne get in first, which I doubt, as they got a good deal for pick 9 from the scum

He's still sooking!

I find it strange people can't get behind midfielders who kick goals.
I don't think that's it. We have a big problem:

We REALLY struggle to move the ball well. We're often stagnant and play down the line, especially from a kick in - we can be good, but generally we are atrocious.

We need the kid who can be a conduit best, in that they simply make play happen. I think this is Draper and Smith - it's their 1 wood, so to speak.
FOS is a bit more impact/dynamic from my limited vision, but you get both from Draper and his defensive game is exceptional as well as his leadership. Watch him make a pass and then direct a teammate as to what's happening further upfield. Great game awareness. He just ticks more boxes for mine. And his kicking skills seem pretty decent (much better than mine anyway!).

If that happened we would make out like bandits - even thou its plan B.
An extra pick would be an amazing freebie given how hard it is to split the top players.
You take Smith and the bonus pick & go shopping and see what the extra could get us.
