We were so happy with 2022's draft haul but it seems that 2023 is coming on even quicker.

lets give him some time at Sandy to accumulate. Back injuries are nothing to be taken lightly. Have huge hopes for Ollie.

Who do you see stepping up into the best 22 this year mike?

There’s going to be a few debutants for round 1..Dow & Henry, with Bonner a strong chance.
Of the new kids, Wilson’s a likely starter, with Collard a good chance given Butler’s ankle issue.
Garcia and Schoenmaker likely to get a game this year at some stage!

Regarding improvement of our list and where we finish this year. Look at our stating 25 and see that we have at least 12 players that can genuinely go better this year. Our 27+ players the output we get will be consistent, but seriously we can expect better outputs from upgrade or another year in the system this year from
Pou
Owens
Windy
NWM
Sharman
Clarke

Then there is better outputs from known knowns King Jones and Membrey injury hampered
Dow and Henry as upgrades.

Reckon not many clubs have that mixture of sustained output from 50% and 50% improvement with a number of players on their playing list with that potential to go to the next level....AA for at least 4 in the next few years.

12 months on things change quite a lot
Hardly hear his name in training reports
Just hit a plateau ?

He’s got a very similar build to Sinclair without the massive calves!
Moves well & looks to be quickish, good overhead so the fundamentals are there…just a matter if he’s going to be good enough.
He’ll be an interesting watch for Sandringham.

Hotton was playing best as high half forward in the lead up to the draft but was expected to make it as a mid. He's competing for the high half forward with some of our best players so has to make it as a mid now. I'd have imagined that his game would suit outside better but haven't seen him play preseason.

He’s been doing a bit of work with the mids and forwards…he has made a couple of glaring turnovers, which hasn’t helped his cause!

Any of the ITKs able to confirm if Hunter's facial injury is just superficial and no impact to his pre season ? From track watchers he seemed to be well set for starting mid position. cheers

Jack Steven copped it his whole career. still early days for Hunter

Definitely not the time to be worrying about Hotton at all yet - first full season at AFL level. Just looking forward to his growth at VFL level this year and hopefully can keep fully healthy. Next year, assuming this year he is relatively healthy, will be the year you'd hope he gets a run in the 1s and would be starting to worry if he isn't good enough. The kid just needs consistency.

Very similar to mine atm, but I have Stocker over Dow and Windhager into the middle. Though at the same time, I don't like the thought of omitting Dow. It's a good problem to have
