Imagine marks on leads all year...Coops and Membrey have a Milne and Schiender ( spelling sorry) year (2009), and kick 50 odd each.

I reckon the team is a serious chance of finishing higher than 7th this year....I felt it in my Loins on Monday as I watched them train.

Feel like they will be looking for more pace than Seb. Not sure Saints can go with Clark, Steele, Crouch and Seb in the same team given they identified pace at the end of last year as one of their weaknesses. At least one of those misses and it is probably Seb.

Yeah I know the main match is being broadcast, but was wondering about the VFL (with some of the 1s team spattered in there)

I reckon the team is a serious chance of finishing higher than 7th this year....I felt it in my Loins on Monday as I watched them train.

Fully expect a top 4 finish , came 7th last year with a limited list due to injuries.
On top of this we no have most of our kids at the age of putting on a show.
Owens , Windhager , Milera , Henry all at the age of showing how good they are and that is not even looking at King.

If Steele gets back to his best with Crouch , Marshall , Hill , Wilkie , Sinclair - there is no reason we will be a threat and far better than last year.

Practice games are just to see where the players are at - and for the players to push for a place in the side - for instance who will be our starting midfielders , who are they going to fit into the forward line because you can't fit King , Hammer , Hayes , Membery , Sharman in the same team.

So fully expect Ross will be moving combinations around to find the best option.

I'm looking forward to see how they fit Owens , Phillipou , Windhager , Henry , Byrne , Ross , Clark , Dow , Jones all into the same team.

I'd love to see it also. But pretty much every team so far has looked a bit scrappy/rusty (of course some good bits too).

Just that time of year, they need a proper hit out to run through the potential rotations, continue solidifying the system, trial some new roles, and tick the legs over properly. No amount of training compares to proper match simulation.

Our skills and ball movement have looked really good at training from what I've seen, and I hope to see a bit of that for sure, but I'm realistic on what tomorrow is. Blow the cobwebs out.

And no... flipping...injuries

I rarely read opposition boards, unless there's something particularly spicy happening & I need a giggle, however I'd imagine it would be hard to top the Saints board as the best on BigFooty. The sheer amount of insight, discussion, banter etc has truly been great this pre-season. Muchos gracias amigos! Onwards to the praccy matches & Rnd 1 we march!!
