Teams 2024 Rate My Pre-Season Team

Little exercise I like doing every year. Here is the current 'consensus' team, using the top 30 players by ownership %.

How many of these players does everyone have in their current side? I'm sitting at 17 at the moment.

I did this about a month ago and the top 30 has changed a bit since then.

just looking at Premos and mid pricers (as rookies will change a lot before lockout), I have 9 of the 14

14 on field rest on the bench where they belong the spuds

Gone a few players left of field with this team. Trying to avoid R0 players like the plague, minus Daicos and Grundy.

My big PODS this year - Houston (AO king), Liberatore, Parish (I believe the offseason work), Darcy (POD to Gawn minus the bye), Rankine (All in on the hype), Nic Martin (Will be a defender by R7, huge seagull role)

Few different mid priced options - Massimo over ZWill (again ZWill a R0 player and think Massimo will get a cushy role), Harmes will play 22 if fit

Rookies are place holders but guys I genuinely think will have good JS from the first bounce. Would love some opinions.

Think this team has 12 keepers.

I think you're 1 premo short in the backline. I think Hustwaite should be good enough to hold down M8 so you could lose one of your mids?

11 of your starting 22 are Round 0 players. Most of us are trying to avoid them. I don't think you'd want any more than 6.

Jordon, Roberts, Billings, Hore, Windsor
Zilliams
Budarick, Sexton, TLynch, Gibcus, Naismith
Wehr, Cadman, FinMac, Kreuger, Reef

there's 16 names under $300k, most are likely to feature and may do very well

our entire rookie/cash cow/stepping stone selection could be locked in confidently before our SC season even starts

I'll defs spend another $200k, likely $300k, but there's nothing we can do now before rd0. Absolute gamechanger seeing 8 teams play before the start of the SC season. Until I see some praccy matches, and rd0 scores, and team selections, I have no clue where to spend my $$$.

Why can’t we continue changing our teams 47 times a day based on a whim?

dont be a miserable kentie like always mate. cant recall seeing any talk about not selecting jordan.

tay tay plays bullseye centre to our midfield.. a midfielder at 440k available up forward (with fudge all other viable options) is something to consider.

if thats the biggest thing youd think someone would be embarrased about here. then you obviously dont spend enough time in the SC threads..

We've seen what Rayner has to offer for many years now. It has never changed.

He's never really been a viable option and still isn't. One preseason game doesn't change anything.

Didnt put him in based on the game however i think he will see more opportunities behind the ball and in the middle. I think he could breakout at some point but im not committed to him by any measure. The point that he's never been a viable option doesnt mean much to me. He would be picked on the assumption that circumstances have changed compared to previous years
