When he gets it, everyone else looks in slow motion.
Never rushed always has time, like Pendlebury in his prime
Still gives me Ben Cousins vibes. Same sorta build. Low centre of gravity like Dusty as well. So solid and skillful.
I love him.

Did anyone see Cowen get hit in second quarter at a boundary throw in? Then could not run in the next contest. Not mentioned on TV and no MRO

Gryan Miers has been charged with striking (first offence) Lachlan Cowan in the second quarter. The incident was assessed as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact, resulting in a $3,750 fine or $2,500 with an early plea.

34 years ago today - two miracles happened- Carlton beat Geelong after being 41 points down at half time. I wasn’t there to see it - as my wife was a little busy that day giving birth to our first born daughter (Alexandra - after the great man of course ;) ).

I couldn’t think of a more appropriate place for these:

Love these old clips. Sticks in a realm of his own. Jimmy was a star. Fotia had more go in him than a remember.

Satori child have joined Spandau Ballet, and Sos U2 , UNforgettable fire era.

Was there, remember thinking at half time we were lucky to be within 41 pts as Geelong kicked poorly and missed plenty of shots.

3rd quarter was an amazing turn around, kicked 9 goals and were in front by 3/4 time.

Silvagni moved forward and gave us a huge lift.

A lot has already been said about this game but the one thing that really stood out to me was just how complete the performance was in every part of the ground.

The suffocating nature of our pressure was spot on from the first minute of the game and really forced Geelong to make uncharacteristic mistakes and didn't allow them to transition the way they would like.

  • 22 I50 tackles to 8 really shows the intent we had to lock the ball in our front half
  • I think the Fox Footy coverage said our 'pressure rating' was +200 for the entire game which is unbelievable
  • We stuck tackles like I haven't seen for a very long time and conversely fought through tackles very strongly

The other big standout to me was just our composure with ball in hand, particularly once we turned the ball over. There was one moment which really stood out to me where we turned the ball over just inside the centre square at Geelong's end and Fog picked up the ball. Historically, we may have looked for a dump kick or played into the hands of Geelong by trying to put it on the head of Harry/Charlie in a 2:1 but instead he assessed the options and hit a 25m kick in the corridor to a player. This allowed us the time and space to work the ball forward properly with a more considered I50.

I watched a video on Friday morning of all our current players first Carlton goal and thought, we need to get Cowan his first goal and what a way to bring it up! Loved the passion in the celebration and all the boys getting round him!

Looking forward to the next few weeks, it's going to be hard for the match committee at selection trying to fit in Cerra, Martin, Motlop with the team really having no passengers and working so well together! Glad it's them and not me!

Watched that game now for the 3/4th time and one thing really jumped out after so many rewatches.
Our small defenders were unreal.
Saad, Boyd, Newy and Cowan absolutely towelled Stengel, miers and close.
And on top of that provided drive and a couple other f nice goals themselves.

Biggest smile of the night reserved for Cowans goal. What a ripper moment for the kid.

Also side note. Elijah is possibly the most important inclusion this year. His vision and cleanness of possession is so bang on.
He is the big boy version we all hoped cunners would be.

On the couch in my orange socks watching the replay. You must have loved the win over the handbags ESKIE. So much fun.
