Yeah I can’t even analyse this game properly. I’m still recovering from the last 5 minutes but I’m happy with the 4 points. I think we all need the bye after the last two weeks. GBs

I wish he (Young) did have some self-belief. He's a 200+cm defender who I believe has some decent athleticism, he is physically capable of a lot.

Thought it was interesting that we were beaten around the ball, but were able to open the game up with precise kicking. A real reversal of what I would have considered this teams strengths and weaknesses

Can see that we've done a lot of work in the off-season on working hard to get the ball into the hands of Saad, Gov, Boyd, Newman and Williams. The slow switch of play via KPPs has been replaced with centering kicks to our better ball users.

Just need to start consistently finding the same sort of targets around 50-80m out - our best option currently is to kick it to Harry/Charlie and have them kick it to Charlie/Harry. Outside of those two I reckon it's only really Cerra and Fantasia that you'd expect to consistently nail the precision entries - the others are more "hit the easy target or bomb it long". Hopefully Martin and E Hollands can help on that front.

Young is a real conundrum. There are times he can look really solid...but there's too many times when he loses his feet and poops the sheets if he's one out against a decent opponent. Hopefully he's a depth player this year...really needs to improve a lot.
Winning mentality players like to get the ball when the heat is on and actively try and help the side win.
Young does not possess this and until it changes with him, I'd prefer someone else in the team tbh.

So the score review can do field umpiring now?

Didn't know they could, but listening to radio this morning, the goal umpire said behind, but wanted a review to ensure it didn't hit Charlie's boot, fair call. The field umpire apparently then said to the ARC, if it hasn't touch his boot, it's incorrect disposal and he will award the free kick.

Now, if the field umpire called "incorrect disposal" and awarded the free kick, but a replay showed it had actually touched Charlie' boot, he would of been crucified.

In the end, I suppose the correct decision was made in a not too conventional way? But if they can do that, for the betterment of the game, then they should let the public know that this option is available?

A lot of people are upset with Kemps turnover that led to the final Tigers goal.

But go back and watch the replay. Rioli stops in the protected area, turns and smothers. Should have been a 50 every time.
The NBA does a review of calls in the last few minutes and puts their hand up if the umps got it wrong. I'd love something similar and if they got it wrong, them admitting it. Can't see it happening.

Kemp played on so you lose your protected zone. If he got back on his mark different story

Still torn on what to make of last night. Richmond threw everything at us and they were bloody brave but we came away with an (ugly) win purely down to a few moments of class plus Cripps ever present awesomeness. Gov was good apart from a couple of blunders, Kemp has work to do an Cerra needs to step up to last years form.

Also taking into account the emotions running high after last week and the toll of coming from so far back to win against a quality side. They are elite footballers but also human.

Still I want to see is us start rinsing teams like last year against Port, Hawks, Suns, Freo over there and to a lesser extent West Coast. Voss was good in his presser, he wasn't happy, he will care about the team, that's obvious but I'm sure he read them the riot act.

I see similar to our early season win last year against the Giants where it was an ugly game where we came away with the chocolates but wouldn't watch it again.

Looking forward to seeing Motts back, what E Hollands can bring and most importantly getting a key defensive wall that is Weiters back in.

Ill take the win but bit of a hollow feeling.

And for my gameday posting, my curse strikes again, don't take it personally fellow Blue boys and girls but as soon as I post we are done we turn it around. I'm going to keep doing it if it means we win

Kemp should have got back off the mark
I don't agree.

Kemp was taking advantage of the stand rule which is the correct decision. It wasn't the player on the mark that cost him, it was a player illegally interfering.

Either way it was still a skill error. But I still think the intent to get the ball moving quickly after the intercept was correct and something he will execute better by the time he's played 50 games.

Upon rewatching I really undervalued Newmans game. Was terrific.

Number 4 I love but not off to a great start.
For some reason he looks smaller and slimmer this year than he did last year. A run in the 2s when a few come back might be good for him.

All good that you disagree, doesn't change what everyone saw. Go back a metre or 2 and or peel rather than attempting to kick at arms length of an opponent

Supporters need to prepare themselves for amazing and brain fade errors when it comes to Kemp, he will cost us goals every game until he can narrow the difference in his moments

Personally, we have enough xfactor in the backline and right now i would take Marchbank who is a disciplined defender

2 wins with arguably a quarter of our best 18 out - no complaints from me.

Still short a quick midfielder, but our half-backline is lightning. Once the mids re-discover their contested game we’ll be scary.

Really need to nail down the forwards who aren’t called Charlie or Harry. I think both Hollands and Martin will come straight in the second they’re fit, with any two of the small needing to lift. Motlop is the one I’m most bullish about. Durdin needs a month in the reserves to find some continuity I reckon.

We kick straight in the 2nd quarter and we’d be talking a 5 goal win - would’ve taken the life out of them.

reading some BS about TDK, posters can have an opinion but he’s going to be a great player!
Nonsense. He got smoked for 3quarters. Fair and valid commentary that in no way at all suggests he isn't becoming an awesome player. Nanks a demon and extremely strong it's just an observation that ties into Richmond's contested possession and clearance dominance for a large chunk of the game. Not at all Bs

Smart by Tiges (or maybe just happenstance) to play McIntosh on him. Very fit, very strong and very physical.

As Spud Frawley used to say “he’ll learn from that”.

Maybe Voss left him there to learn. He wasn’t awful (neither was Orazio, I found criticism of him a bit severe as well) but certainly a little underwhelming.
