Freo’s strength is their tall defenders.

We’ve become a nightmare match up for them - as we rarely bomb it long anymore.

They are an incredibly disciplined side with two good rucks who will push grundy and work him very hard. Their tall defenders are very good and their tall forwards are tough.

I've watched them a bit this season. Theyve got a bit of the ross lyon very hard to score against but with a little more of a forward line (ballatyne pavlich and walters were pretty good mind you). They'll be a tough match up especially in the slightly smaller scg - ryan and pearce will be very hard to get past.

I would not mind seeing Campbell get a run of games. I feel we might need him in the second half of the season. So rather give him some continuous games whilst we can rather than bounce between reserves/sub/seniors.

I think Wicks is important to our structure as a quick pressure forward. I would not want to replace him. But I would like to use the sub role to give some experience to an understudy in case he was unavailable later in the season.

Campbell has had a run of games on more than a few occasions. the real issue is what is his actual position. Hes not a great small defender, hes an ok winger but not as good as any of our other options. Could he replace wicks as a small forward ? is he as good as roberts as a defender rebounder ? Its tricky.

I'd be OK with resting someone. IMO some of our guys just didn't look 100% against GWS and there would be some sore bodies after that encounter vs the training drill Freo's players are currently enjoying.

Admittedly my perspective might be slanted just a little by my desire to see Cleary playing a full game & Fox coming in...

Looks like the defender role Campbell currently has is the least settled. Now that Fox has had a run, he would be the one change I'd make, coming in for Campbell. Just feel he offers more that what Campbell is delivering. Happy for Cleary to get another run as sub - it will be great experience for him to play in front of a packed SCG.

Just because it's a lower level you can't disregard it. Warner has earned his chance and Campbell has failed miserably to take his

True to a point , but I think you can put some perspective around it and also look at Warner at AFL level and see he looked mostly out of place.

I'd rather get Roberts or Fox back in personally .

I'd love to see fox back in but unfortunately for him, his selection heavily relies on structures, and right now there are no defenders that deserve to miss.

Having good players that are unable to get back in is just about the best problem to have
