This might ACTUALLY be a week to hold fire and not trade.

No bubble boys.

20 playing.

Yeah. Yeah I think I might not trade.

Unless someone can see something that could be worthwhile that I’m missing, of course.

It's a triple Gold Coast Treat this week:

Howes > Clohesy
J Clark > Graham
Jordon > Flanders

Trading out Grundy is crazy talk when there's so many more holes left to fill.
Not crazier than going early on two rookies with a boost.

I'm about to write an essay brothers I need some help.

I'm ranked around 4k and have 300k in the bank so I'm in a really good spot but i have no idea what to do here.

I have so many options its overwhelming.

Problems that I have: Grundy, Fyfe in the middle instead of forward line, Howes and Berry may lose cash this week (Berry most likely to lose cash), D'Ambrosio capping out soon.

Targets down back: Houston & Ryan
Targets in the middle: any 4 of Serong, Green, Petracca, Libba, Butters
Ruck: English
Forward: ?????????

Options I've considered
1) Grundy > English
Upside: I get English.
Downside: No rookies off the field Berry & Howes probably lose cash this week.

2) Howes > NWM/Young
Upside: Lets me loop Zilliams/Massimo, gets a rookie off the field.
Downside: Berry going to lose cash, NWM/Young aren't guaranteed top 6 defenders, backline could be weak later in the year with Yeo + one of them.

3) Grundy > Meek
Howes > Ryan/Houston.
Upside: Get what's likely a top 6 defender in & an extra score this week, can lopp Massimo & Williams.
Downside: Berry going to lose cash, I'm going to have to upgrade Meek later in the year anyway and I'm burning through trades. I probably would grab Houston as Ryan is a bit overvalued right now and Houston is undervalued.

4) Berry > Zorko
Upside: Zorko is a POD, likely a top 6 forward if he stays at HBF.
Downside: I have to play rookie roulette with Reid/Dempsey/Darcy. Zorko doesn't inspire a shitload of confidence in me.

5)Berry > JHF (via Fyfe/Wilson up forward)
Upside: Loads of value presented with JHF.
Downside: Either playing rookie roulette in the middle with one of Roberts/Mckercher/Sanders missing, or playing it up forward with Reid/Dempsey/Darcy. JHF likely isn't going to be a top 8 mid, and I already have Crouch for my m8 role

6) Grundy > Meek
Berry > Any premo mid I don't have
Upside: Get a guaranteed mid keeper... leaning towards Tom Green or Libba
Downside: Going to have to upgrade Meek later. Kills my entire bank. Same rookie roulette problem.

Am I missing any options? What would you do?

Out of thos choices i like Grundy to Meek or Berry to JHF

IMO:
  • JHF and Meek are underpriced
  • English is overpriced
  • Ryan,Young and NVM are fairly or overpriced.
  • -Zorko is too old, inconsistent.

If you wanted to commit a SC cardinal sin and go early on a rookie you could punt Lazzaro, move Daics to the midfield and get Cholsy.

Move Fyfe to the forwards after trading Jordon and buy JHF.

Or if you really want to set fire to your team you could go Grundy to Meek and see what kind of mid premo that gets you?

Probably nothing is the best solution. lol.

Trade Berry

Fyfe forward.

See what premo you can get?

Rozee?

I lke your side better than mine. I d be inclined to ditch Jordon this week. I dont think its crazy to go early on Clohesy or Comben for what its worth

Martin is a decent trade-in, but I wouldn’t go early on rookies to do it.

Alternatively... Meek doesn't have a bye until round 15 too.

Xerri has the same R12 bye as Grundy, but without this week's one.
would you not hope to have made the meek to gawn/english/marshall upgrade before that 2nd bye is relevant tho?

im considering grundy to meek to to open up some more cash to go jhye clark to steele, interesting seeing all the points ppl hv made

I was thinking of doing this next week if all goes well:

Howes to Clothesline
Jordon to Comben
Mass to whoever I can

Maybe.

I’d prefer to get a mid in though.

It is a risk but I think the best option is to wait a week on JHF. He has played against WC and Essendon at AO, and is known for his rollercoaster scores, with a high ceiling and a low floor. Freo are looking alright and should be a tougher game for Port, plus you get to see how Port rotate Butters, Rozee, JHF, Wines and Drew.
He will go up 40-50k with a ton and still be under 500k.

yeah i agree, massive trap, will drop 70's every 3 weeks

skipping Graham?
I guess that depends on what happens next week.

Could be a triple downgrade play and bank up for some upgrades the following week.

It’s probably the smarter play given that I missed some really good rookies.

He’ll probably come out and score 100, the kent
